OFFICIAL OPEN LETTER

Today, KSR Curling Club has issued an Official Open Letter to the Curling Sports Federation of Hong Kong, China and the Sport For All Confederation of Hong Kong, China Limited, with copies to the World Curling Federation, the WCF Athlete Commission, the SF&OC, and the Hong Kong Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau.

What this is about:

Our 4-member women's curling team has been blocked from representing Hong Kong at the National Curling Championships of China. And two of our athletes won the 2026 Asian Curling Club Championship (ACCC) on their own merit.

The Federation refused to stamp our registration for the 2025-2026 National Championships, citing "insufficient preparation time" — even though the official notice was published FOUR MONTHS earlier.

The Harbin Winter Games selection was held at a shopping mall ice rink with no stone throwing, no proper rubric, and clear conflicts of interest.

Our demands:

1. Publish the open selection criteria and registration roadmap for the 2026-2027 National Championship (April 2027) — within 14 business days.
2. Sport For All must exercise proper oversight and ensure a fair, open, and just process.
3. End the monopoly that restricts Hong Kong curling to a privileged few.

We have given the Federation 14 business days to respond. If no satisfactory reply is received, we will escalate this matter to the Ombudsman, the General Administration of Sport of China, and the Chinese Curling Association.

Hong Kong athletes deserve better. Transparency. Fairness. Accountability.

今日，KSR Curling Club 正式向中國香港冰壺體育總會及 Sport For All Confederation of Hong Kong, China Limited 發出公開信，並抄送世界冰壺聯合會、WCF 運動員委員會、港協暨奧委會及香港文化體育及旅遊局。

事件背景：

我們一支4人女子冰壺隊，一再被阻撓參加全國冰壺錦標賽。然而我們其中兩位運動員憑自身實力奪得2026年亞洲冰壺俱樂部錦標賽（ACCC）冠軍。

總會拒絕為我們蓋章報名2025-2026年度全國錦標賽，理由是「準備時間不足」 —— 但官方通知早在四個月前已公布。

哈爾濱冬奧選拔更離譜：在商場溜冰場進行、只有滑行沒有投壺、沒有正式評分標準、評判存在明顯利益衝突。

我們的要求：

1. 總會須在14個工作天內公布2026-2027年度全國錦標賽（2027年4月）的公開選拔準則及報名安排；
2. Sport For All 必須履行監管職責，確保程序公平、公開、公正；
3. 終止小圈子壟斷，讓香港冰壺運動真正開放給所有運動員。

我們給予總會14個工作天回覆。若未獲滿意答覆，我們將向申訴專員公署、國家體育總局及中國冰壺協會提出申訴。

香港運動員值得更好。透明。公平。問責。

Shanghai swept the top three spots in the women's division of the National U18 Curling Championship. Currently, Shanghai has two curling rinks open to the public and three school curling rinks.

The National University Curling Championships are being held in Harbin (5 sheets), while the U21 event is taking place simultaneously in Yanshan, Beijing (6 sheets). In the U21, Shanghai Fleet claimed the men's championship and the women's team took second place. Immediately following that, the U18 competition is now being held in Inner Mongolia (5 sheets).

The National Youth Curling Championships will be held in Harbin on September 10.

❗️ The Sports Federation of Hong Kong, China never sends its own teams to these national games, but it blocks independent teams from competing — and there has never been a fair and open selection process.

This marked Macau's historic international debut on real ice, representing the first-ever appearance for a Macau curling team.

Macau, who did not have to play a match in India due to a bye, advanced to the round of 24 with a win and a favorable Last Stone Draw (L*D) result, where they faced Uijeongbu Team 3.

The Uijeongbu team kept creating complex situations to limit the Macau team, but Macau consistently managed to place their last stone in the trickiest positions with precise rotations. As a result, those complex situations backfired, giving Uijeongbu a major headache. Macau kept stealing one point at a time, entering the final end with a one-point lead. This time, Uijeongbu could no longer afford to underestimate their opponent — they gave it everything they had and scored two points.
