Hong Kong Kids Deserve the Best!
Move For Life was created by world class dancer Joshua Keefe from Australia. Joshua has taught and competed at the highest level on an international scale ranking in the top 10 professional dancers in the world. But he didn’t start off like this.
As a very shy child who was not terribly academic or sporty Joshua would never have dreamed to become a well travelled dancer and teacher, Joshua’s hard work and focus on his passions came from a school based dance program when he was 9 years old and the support of a caring family. From small town Perth in Australia, Josh has had the privilege of living and working in Australia, United Kingdom, Italy and Hong Kong, working with top competitive dancers and learning from the worlds best coaches.
It was a long road to success and many hurdles and down periods before the highs, but what is gained along the way is priceless. Dancing teaches perseverance, you need a growth mind set as well as being able to problem solve and be an adaptable individual, while working with close teams.
This Perth boy went from being a quite and shy child to a confident and outgoing adult, successful in his chosen field and a great team player in his professional conquests, an adaptable professional able to work with groups and individuals over all age groups and abilities to achieve goals and inspire others.
Joshua in recent times has also expanded his skills to become a choreographer and professional dancers for Dancing With The Stars Australia, and worked with Hong Kong's best schools and kindergartens to elevate courses and projects with his dancing knowledge and experience.
After years of working with such a variety of dancers, skills, ages and styles, Joshua has now set his sites on Hong Kong's youth/schools, by building a team of energetic and talented dance teachers that promote confidence building, social awareness, break down personal and physical barriers through dancing with partners.
Move For Life uses Ballroom, Latin, Hip Hop and other styles of dancing for maximum participation in and out of schools. They also work a lot with children under 5 years of age and special needs. Move For Life have a small but epic team of infectious dance professionals that love their jobs and its shows in their relationship with students and parents.
Josh says “We would like to break the mould of what schools offer, and views on dancing as a non academic subject, its is, its as essential as maths. Dancing teaches people more than you think. Anyone can dance, as it has so many forms so lets come together, share space and get moving together!”
