The energy at Kellett Island Cup was unmatched today! VRC Dragons hit the water with a singular focus, and it showed in every single heat.

It was a highly competitive field, but the team brought exactly the right mindset—locked in, composed, and ready to fight for every inch. We are incredibly proud of how everyone paddled today; the synchronization and power in the boat were a testament to all the hard work put in during training.

This is only the beginning for this season!

A perfect day at Deep Water Bay for the VRC Dragons Open Day and Season Opening Ceremony! ☀️🐉

The new season began with the traditional Bai Sun blessing and eye‑dotting ceremony, bringing good fortune to our boats before a fantastic day on the water. We were excited to welcome many new faces keen to learn about dragon boating, with plenty of beginners getting their first taste of paddling with the team.

The VRC Dragons held another Open Day under bright skies and calm waters at Deep Water Bay on Saturday February 21.

The attendees were a great mix of experienced paddlers and people trying out the sport for the first time, all eager to learn more about dragon boating and what it means to be part of the VRC community. While the newcomers got a taste of the sport and our team, the crew preparing for the upcoming race put in a strong, high-spirited training session on the water.

The day was marked by teamwork & a sense of community, and great energy driving the VRC Dragons into what’s shaping up to be an exciting race season ahead.

VRC Dragons started the season strong with an Open Day on 31 Jan! The day started with a Dragon Boating 101 land technique session before the rookies braved the cold and rain to try their hand at paddling for the first time.

The Open Day marks what is shaping up to be a strong season for the Dragon Boat Section. With their first race at the end of February at Middle Island, the team is preparing for a rocking year of races both locally and internationally.

🌊VRC MOX Royal Rumble 2025 ☀️

What an incredible turnout for the VRC MOX Royal Rumble 2025 last Saturday at Emerald Bay Clubhouse, Sai Kung!

Nearly 100 paddlers from all corners of the HK dragon boat scene came down for a day of mixed teams, mixed boats, and maximum fun!

From paddling side by side to sharing laughs and stories off the water, the spirit was unbeatable. Huge thank you to our sponsor MOX, every VRC Dragons organiser and volunteer, and everyone who joined and made it possible!

This kind of off-season event is rare – truly special to see crews coming together just for the joy of it. Can’t wait to do it again and make Royal Rumble a new tradition for Hong Kong’s paddling family! 🫶

What a great Saturday with the VRC Dragons! 💥

We started the morning strong with our 7:30am training session—everyone giving their best as we gear up for Stanley and Penang races ahead. Later, we traded paddles for good vibes at our junk social—sun, sea, laughter, and an amazing crew.
