[17months and counting]

My dear son,

Every second of my life has been filled with sweetness and precious memories since your existence.

I’ve learnt a lot from you.

Everyday you bring me and papa new perspectives on how to experience the world to its fullest yet in its simplest form possible.

Every little thing on earth fascinates you and gives you such a good laugh.

But you know what, your every little laugh gave us an even bigger laugh.

Your babbling, funny looks, mischievous actions and jokes just never ceased to amaze me and papa.

And most of all, we are filled with your truly unconditional love all year round.

Thank you my dear son.

Thank you for choosing us to be your parents.

Thank you for showing us how to love and enjoy life in the simplest ways and live mindfully by being present all the time.

You are truly an angel.

[11 months old]

It was like yesterday I gave birth to Liam and now he is this chatty active guy who loves to chill with anyone and everyone. His new favourite is hanging out with dogs. He’s always so excited to see them and they adores him too.

His achievements so far:
- has 2.5 teeth
- weight 9.3kg
- 71cm tall
- 3hrs wake windows
- eat at least one big bowl of solid food 3 times a day
- drinks 400ml milk
- crawls and explore everywhere
- puts everything in his mouth includes leaves and dirt
- surfing the furniture around the house and walk by pushing chairs around the house
- stand for 2 seconds without realising he was standing
- loves reading
- singing classical music
- playing musical instruments
- claps after he sang or performed a trick
- making animals sounds e.g. elephant, cow, dog, rooster

This year, there’s no dressed up nor fancy celebration but visiting daddy for an extended lunch break for dimsum.

Finally the weather is not so hot and we’re able to exercise together outside.

And this guy progressed from doing diamond press at 2 months old to a full cobra to my count at 6 months... and his assisted curl up is very good too.

He’s certainly my boy.

[Diary of a Mom] - Day142

Motherhood is living in the baby bubble and swimming in that love and joy everyday. It is pure, literal and as simple as this happy face.

This true love of life living as a baby is precious.

His presence reminds me to pause, breath and embrace the pure joy that my inner child feels at the moment.

Note to self: Just be present like a baby would

[Precious Memory]

Pregnancy journal | week 39

How I miss that belly! I recall that it was an eventful but calm day.

I knew this will be the last photo of Liam inside my belly

We hurried to take this photo in the morning of 27th March before we chat with my sister in law who’s midwife for some last minute tips, did an extra Covid test, run errands in Mostown (shopping mall), repack my hospital bag

We’ve done a lot in one day considering the fact that I was feeling “the cramp” every now and then for up to a minute-ish since 11am.

We were bold and hold off going to the hospital until the contractions become real and is 30s to 1 minute long, 5 minutes apart. That was 8pm.

We arrived the hospital at 9pm and could go in the labour ward right the way as I was already 2-3 cm dilated.

I was like awesome, we don’t have to wait, but at the same time I said “Liam please slow down as I haven’t got my COVID test result back, meaning daddy Jon can’t come into the ward to meet you, but soon.”

About 3hours after Jon reunited with me and hold my hands by my side, little Liam came to this world.

It was a full natural unassisted birth that I was hoping for.

Thanks to my lovely body doing this magical work.

Despite the hot blazing sun, I just have to move while baby’s asleep.

Note to self - Just show up for the body and make it as strong and as resilient as the mind (or the other way around)

It’s been a long time since I was able to exercise.

Need to give myself a pat in the back for showing up on the rooftop when taking care of baby alone.

Salute to fellow moms who goes solo in taking care or their kid(s) and don’t have a helper at home.

I feel how hard it is to even just brush my teeth.

I’m glad my boy decided to take a proper nap today.

Gotta love that same day delivery from

Since baby was born, I was dying for a tea, but I haven’t found any decaf version that I liked. So I switched back to my good old bulletproof coffee.

I’ve also ordered this turmeric latte to try. Having a baby means everything need to be done efficiently, so here’s a short cut for a healthy drink.

Treat everyday like your birthday!

My birthday this year is special. Having Liam around, my husband took a day off to celebrate with me for the first time. So I have that precious hour on the roof to get some exercise in.

Here’s the warm up of my routine & I feel like myself again even though my physical strength and physique is not what it used to be. It’s refreshing for the mind just to move in the sun.

I have to say even for me it is difficult to get my butt off the nursing couch and get moving. So I hear you fellow mums out there.

Not having a helper or the confinement lady around made exercising on the roof a little difficult. So I procrastinated and stopped moving for 2 weeks & feel sluggish and wobbly. Yikes 😱

My birthday note is “Treat everyday like it’s my birthday. Remember to show up for the mind and body daily through movements. This present can help me spiral up and stay sunny side up.
