Behind the scenes of the last Zoom class for school before CNY break. We practiced “A Handful of Quiet” drawing meditation to respect the passing of Thich Nhat Hanh”. When I asked the kids how they felt after this meditation practice, one girl replied “awesomely calm” ♥️ Let’s hope this serenity, stability and peace can join us in this new year of the Tiger 🐯

Mantras taught at the end of Kids and Adult classes today for and every day 💕
Silently repeat 3x to yourself and notice how it makes you feel...does it feel the same after 3 days? 5 days? A week?

Self-care menu 💕
For Valentine’s themed classes this year I focused on the idea of self care...doing poses that make our bodies feel good, activities that we love and discussing how we do kind and loving things for others and ourselves. One 6 year old even told me she prefers to just do things to look after other people not herself. So how can we introduce self-care and loving kindness to ourselves, even at a young age?
I took this idea from and introduced it to Tweens as a tool we could use when we want to do something good for ourselves, shift how we feel and give ourselves some loving kindness. I challenged students to think of just 1 idea for each time as a start. Starting small, starting with ourselves 💕

Last week my classes (for both kids and adults) were all themed around balance, something I’m constantly striving for and missing the mark on! Not balancing on our heads or hands or one leg (although of course my beloved tree pose did feature in all!) but balance in all sides of the body, balance in the breath, balance between strength and flexibility, balance between the many sides of ourselves...there is so much to explore with this theme. This week, leading on from this I’ve been thinking about creating steadiness and ease, moments of rest and slowing down...come and find me to see how this manifests in my classes 🙏🏻

The last class of the school year definitely calls for something special.
It has been such a joy to “play” yoga with these 17 wonderful young people every week. They’ve taught me so much and made me laugh, smile and think every week!
Today I’ve made a room of stations for them to explore...making meditation jars, rolling a pose, making affirmation cards, pranayama play along the mats and twisting their favourite pose from pipe cleaners. I hope they love it!
