🌍 Taking The Chess Academy to the Global Stage

June was a landmark month for Hong Kong chess! 🎉 The Chess Academy proudly represented Hong Kong at the FIDE World Team Rapid & Blitz Championships, fielding two competitive teams led by our Grandmasters and rising stars.

Our players faced legends like Magnus Carlsen, Fabiano Caruana, Wesley So, and Viswanathan Anand — turning every match into a masterclass. Highlights included GM Manuel drawing against Anand and our student Ben Han winning Gold on Board 8. 💥

Beyond the world stage, TCA teams also shone locally, securing 3rd place in the Amateur Rapid Cup. These achievements reflect our mission: not just trophies, but opening horizons for Hong Kong’s youth.

And the journey continues — this year, we’re sending four coaches and 15 students to Spain for international opens. At TCA, we’re building the future of Hong Kong chess, one move at a time. ♟️✨

An Event for Less Experienced Players ♟️✨

Most tournaments are intimidating—this one is different. The TCA Beginners Tournament 2026 is a "no-pressure" zone designed specifically for new players to build confidence, test their skills, and have fun without facing seasoned pros.

✅ Eligibility: Exclusively for players who have never placed Top 3 in a TCA or chess-results.com event.

📅 Pick Your Session (1:00 PM – 6:00 PM):
- Sunday, 19 April: U7 & U9 Sections (Register by 17 April)
- Sunday, 26 April: U11 & U18 Sections (Register by 24 April)
