2026년 새해를 맞아 KTAHK 협회 지도자들이 한자리에 모였습니다!

이번 첫 모임은 경희태권도장에서 따뜻한 환대 속에 진행되었는데요. 그동안 있었던 여러 일들을 차분히 정리하며 공유하고, 올 한 해 우리 수련생들과 지도자들을 위해 준비할 다양한 행사들에 대해 이야기를 나누는 시간을 가졌습니다.

다소 무거운 현안들도 있었지만, 함께 머리를 맞대고 화합을 다지는 모습에서 KTAHK의 밝은 미래를 볼 수 있었습니다. 올 한 해 계획한 모든 일들이 성공적으로 결실을 맺어, 모두에게 보람된 2026년이 되기를 간절히 소망하고 기도합니다.

To mark the start of 2026, the leaders of the Hong Kong Korean Taekwondo Association (KTAHK) gathered for their first meeting of the year at Kyung Hee Taekwondo. Amidst warm hospitality, we took the time to calmly review recent developments and share updates. [K-Sports] 韓國廣場 2025 - 跆拳道示範表演

2025년 9월 5일 금요일, 홍콩 쿤통 지역에 위치한 무광영어중고등학교에서 주홍콩 대한민국 총영사관이 주최한 「외교관과의 대화」 행사가 열렸다.

특히 행사에는 홍콩한인태권도협회 소속 마스터들이 함께해 특별한 무대를 선보였다. 태권도는 대한민국을 대표하는 문화 콘텐츠이자 세계적으로 사랑받는 무예로, 홍콩한인태권도협회 측은 이를 통해 학생들에게 한국 문화를 더욱 친근하게 소개하고자 했다.

시범은 전통적인 품새와 격파 시연뿐만 아니라, 현대적 감각을 접목한 퍼포먼스로 구성되어 눈길을 끌었다. 특히 최근 넷플릭스를 통해 전 세계적인 인기를 끈 〈케이팝 데몬 헌터스〉 OST를 활용한 태권댄스 공연은 학생들의 뜨거운 호응을 얻으며 행사 분위기를 한층 고조시켰다. 음악과 태권도의 역동적인 동작이 어우러진 무대는 한국의 전통과 현대 문화가 조화를 이루는 모습을 보여주며 깊은 인상을 남겼다.

On Friday, September 5, 2025, the Mu Kuang English School in Kwun Tong, Hong Kong, hosted the event “Dialogue with Diplomats,” organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Hong Kong.

A special highlight of the event was the performance presented by masters from the KTAHK (Korean Taekwondo Association in Hong Kong). As taekwondo is one of Korea’s most iconic cultural assets, KTAHK aimed to introduce Korea to the students through a dynamic and engaging demonstration.

The performance included traditional forms and breaking techniques, as well as modern elements that captivated the audience. In particular, the taekwondo dance performance set to a track from the Netflix hit K-Pop Demon Hunters drew enthusiastic cheers from the students. The energetic blend of music and taekwondo movements showcased how Korea’s traditional martial art can harmonize with contemporary pop culture, leaving a lasting impression.

태권도 레전드 박동영 교수님께서, Air Form 전수를 위해 이석 감독님과 함께 홍콩한인태권도협회를 방문하셨습니다.

Air Form은 난이도 높은 자유품새를 보다 안전하고 체계적으로 지도할 수 있도록, 박동영 교수님이 총감독으로 계신 Air Kick 팀에서 고안한 훈련 방식입니다. 이번 방문에서 박 교수님은 월요일 밤부터 수요일 밤까지 총 3일간, 9시간에 걸쳐 세심하고 밀도 있는 지도를 진행해 주셨습니다. 또한 전수를 받은 각 태권도장을 직접 방문하시어 수료 인증 현판도 전달해주셨습니다.

박동영 교수님은 태권도 시범 1세대의 대표 인물로, 국내외 태권도 지도자라면 누구나 알고 있는 존경받는 분입니다. 짧은 시간이었지만, 교수님의 깊이 있는 태권도 철학을 직접 듣고 체험할 수 있었던 이번 시간은 저희 모두에게 큰 영감이 되었으며, 앞으로 태권도를 지도함에 있어 더욱 깊이 있는 전달에 큰 도움이 될 것으로 믿습니다.

귀한 시간을 내어 정성껏 지도해주신 박동영 총감독님과 이석 감독님께 깊은 감사의 말씀을 전합니다.

Legend of Taekwondo, Professor Dong-Young Park, visited the Korean Taekwondo Association in Hong Kong alongside Director Seok Lee to provide specialized training in Air Form.

Air Form is a training system developed by the Air Kick Team—led by Professor Park as General Director—to safely and systematically instruct the complex techniques found in freestyle poomsae. During this visit, Professor Park conducted intensive and meticulous training over the course of three days, from Monday evening to Wednesday evening, totaling nine hours. He also personally visited each participating Taekwondo studio to present official completion plaques.

As one of the pioneering figures in the first generation of Taekwondo demonstration leaders, Professor Dong-Young Park is a highly respected name known to Taekwondo instructors both in Korea and around the world. Though brief, this time with him was incredibly inspiring for all of us. Experiencing his profound philosophy of Taekwondo firsthand has left a lasting impression, and we believe it will greatly enhance the depth and quality of our future instruction.

We extend our deepest gratitude to General Director Dong-Young Park and Director Seok Lee for taking the time to share their expertise and provide such thoughtful and dedicated guidance.

The 1st Korean Consul General Cup Taekwondo Championship

The 1st Korean Consul General Cup Taekwondo Championship, hosted by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Hong Kong and organized by the Korean Sports Association in Hong Kong, will be held on October 7 at Southorn Stadium in Wan Chai. This event will feature a performance by the Kukkiwon Taekwondo Demonstration Team, renowned worldwide for their exceptional skills, showcasing the true essence of Taekwondo. As the opening event of The 15th Festive Korea, this championship marks a meaningful celebration of Korean culture in Hong Kong. We warmly invite everyone to join us and show your support!

홍콩한인태권도협회 지도진, 한국 최고의 격파팀 ‘거인회’로부터 특별 지도 받아

홍콩한인태권도협회 소속 지도진은 6월 7일(토) 저녁, 한국에서 가장 명성 높은 격파 시범단 ‘거인회’로부터 약 3시간 반에 걸쳐 위력격파에 대한 특별 지도를 받았다.

격파는 겨루기, 품새, 시범과 함께 태권도의 대표적인 수련 분야로, 최근에는 자유품새와 함께 대회 종목으로도 주목받으며 그 규모와 인기가 꾸준히 커지고 있다. 그러나 여전히 체계적인 수련법이 부족한 현실 속에서, 협회는 보다 정확하고 효과적인 지도법을 익히고자 거인회 선수팀을 직접 홍콩으로 초청했다.

이번 교육에는 정상민, 이준우, 설민지, 박성진 등 세계 격파대회에서 금메달을 수상한 현역 선수이자 거인회 소속 지도자 4명이 참여했다. 세미나는 늦은 밤 NRG 태권도장에서 열정적으로 진행되었으며, 정확한 격파용 손날의 정의부터 바른 격파 자세, 수련법, 지도 방법까지 세밀하게 전수되었다. 또한 시청각 자료를 통해 지도자에게 요구되는 긍정적인 태도와 지도 철학에 대한 공유도 이루어졌다.

교육에 참여한 협회 지도자들은 “격파는 단순한 기술을 넘어, 아이들에게 인내심과 두려움 극복이라는 가치를 전할 수 있는 중요한 수단”이라며, “이번 지도를 통해 보다 안전하고 정교한 방식으로 학생들을 지도할 수 있게 되어 매우 뜻깊은 시간이었다”고 소감을 전했다.

Instructors of the Korean Taekwondo Association in Hong Kong Receive Special Training from Korea’s Top Breaking Team ‘GeoInHoe’

On the evening of Saturday, June 7, instructors from the Korean Taekwondo Association in Hong Kong received a special 3.5-hour training session in power breaking from GeoInHoe, Korea’s most renowned breaking demonstration team.

Four elite instructors from GeoInHoe—Jung Sang-min, Lee Jun-woo, Seol Min-ji, and Park Sung-jin—led the seminar. These athletes are not only GeoInHoe instructors but also active gold medalists in international breaking competitions. The seminar was held late into the night at NRG Taekwondo, covering everything from the definition of a proper knifehand strike for breaking to correct posture, training methods, and effective coaching strategies. Audiovisual materials were also used to share insights on the positive mindset and teaching philosophy expected of instructors.

The participating instructors shared, “Breaking is more than just a technique—it’s a meaningful way to teach children important values such as perseverance and overcoming fear. This session gave us valuable tools to guide our students more safely and accurately.”

홍정기 교수, 홍콩 한인태권도협회 지도진 대상 MAT 세미나 진행
유퀴즈에 나와 국민건강을 위한 메시지와 운동법을 알리며, 차의과학대학교 스포츠의학대학원 원장으로 새로운 패러다임을 만들고 있는 홍정기 교수가 지난 5월 31일에 홍콩을 방문하였다.

홍콩한인태권도협회 소속 지도진 중심으로 필라테스 강사, 보디빌더 트레이너 대상으로 MAT(Muscle Activation Techniques) 세미나를 진행했다. MAT 분야의 권위자인 그는 이날 강연에서 ”무식한 트레이닝은 끝났다“는 인상적인 발언으로 세미나의 문을 열었다.

세미나에서는 단순한 근육 단련을 넘어서, 근육의 정확한 활성화와 평가 방법에 대한 심도 있는 설명이 이어졌다. 홍 교수는 ”근육은 절대 간단하지 않으며, 환자의 히스토리를 깊이 이해하고 평가 과정에서 세심하게 관찰하는 것이 MAT를 시행하는 강사의 기본 자세“라고 강조했다.

홍 교수는 세미나 내내 지도진들에게 존칭을 사용하며 겸손한 자세로 지도법을 상세히 전달했다. 모든 평가 과정에서는 직접 시범을 보이며, 열정적이고 진지한 태도로 교육을 이끌었다. 그는 “정확한 근육을 쓰지 못한 상태에서 같은 말만 반복하는 것은 학생 입장에서 매우 답답할 수 있다”며, “사람마다 생김새와 골격이 다르기 때문에 모두에게 같은 방식으로 가르치는 것은 적절치 않다”고 설명했다.

이번 세미나는 연휴임에도 불구하고 약 6시간 동안 이어졌으며, 참여한 모든 지도진들은 ”무엇보다 가치 있는 주말을 보낸 것 같다“며 큰 만족감을 드러냈다.

Professor Hong Jung Ki Leads MAT Seminar for KTAHK Instructors

On May 31, Professor Hong Jung Ki visited Hong Kong to lead a seminar on Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT) for instructors of the Korean Taekwondo Association in Hong Kong (KTAHK). A leading expert in the field, Professor Hong opened the seminar with a powerful statement: “Mindless training is over.”

The seminar went beyond simple muscle strengthening, focusing instead on precise muscle activation and thorough evaluation techniques. “Muscles are never simple,” he emphasized. “Understanding the patient’s full history and observing carefully during the evaluation process is the fundamental responsibility of a MAT practitioner.”

Throughout the seminar, Professor Hong maintained a respectful tone, using honorifics when addressing the instructors and humbly delivering detailed guidance. He personally demonstrated every evaluation technique, conducting the session with both seriousness and passion.

“It can be frustrating for students when they keep hearing the same instruction without understanding how to properly use the right muscles,” he said. “Everyone’s body structure is different—so we can’t teach everyone in exactly the same way.”

Despite taking place on a public holiday, the seminar lasted over six hours, and participants expressed high levels of satisfaction. One commented, “It felt like one of the most valuable weekends we‘ve had.”
