⚡ The Basic Stepping 3-Punch Partner Drill 💥

Concept: A continuous, infinite loop combining Sun style chain punches, defensive slaps, and a sudden explosive counter-attack.

🎥 Step-by-Step Breakdown for the Video

Phase 1: The Advance

Action: Keep your back foot anchored and step forward with only one foot 🦶🏻.

Ex*****on: As you step in, throw 3 rapid Sun style chain punches straight at your partner 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻.

Phase 2: The Retreat

Action: Step backward to create distance.

Ex*****on: Execute 3 distinct side slaps (parries/deflections) as you step back to neutralize incoming pressure 🤚🏻✋🏻🫳🏻.

Phase 3: The Trap & Explode (Pro Tip)

Action: On the 3rd and final slap, instantly transition into a press & punch while driving forward into a deep front step 🫳🏻👊🏻🦶🏻.

🎬 Director's Cut Note: This is the best moment to accelerate. Charge forward hard on this beat to simulate catching your partner as they run right into your strike!

Phase 4: The Infinite Loop ♾️

Action: Flow seamlessly right back into the beginning ("Back At One")🔂 .

Ex*****on: Repeat the entire sequence continuously for endless rounds of conditioning and timing practice.

Breaking News!!!
A Tribute to Sifu Sunny Tang🫸🏻🤛🏻

"With heavy hearts, profound respect, & cherished memories, we gather to honor the life & passing of a true Canadian Ving Tsun / Wing Chun figurehead & community leader, Sifu Sunny Tang 師傅鄧華, who left us yesterday, October 5, 2026, at the age of 80. We extend our deepest, heartfelt condolences to his family, his loved ones, & the entire martial arts community he served for decades.

My father & I first met Sifu Sunny back in 1998, when we ran our Wing Chun school in Vancouver BC Canada. That same year, we became proud members of the Western Canada Chinese Martial Arts Association, & we often helped out at their events. Back then, I was just a young junior coach, still finding my footing.
Sifu Sunny took the time to talk to me. He offered invaluable advice & inspired me to step up & truly commit to teaching Wing Chun. He is one of the primary reasons I stand before you as a Wing Chun Sifu today.

His guidance shaped not just my path as a martial artist, but my path as a teacher & a person.

Thank you, Sifu Master Sunny Tang, for a lifetime of leadership & inspiration. May you rest in peace."💐

Demonstrating the fundamental power transmission and core structural mechanics of the Luk Dim Boon Kwun (六點半棍 / Six-and-a-Half Point Pole).

The application requires absolute physical precision, structural integrity, and long-range tactical control. Every movement is a direct expression of focused energy and spatial dominance.

Mastering the pole is the ultimate mastery of distance & precision.

Teaching isn’t always easy—sometimes you have to spend more than just time & patience to help a student feel the right tension.

In this clip, I’m helping a student find his optimal range & strike while keeping my arms fully under control. (A quick reminder: knowing your best range is everything when applying Wing Chun techniques!) To get the lesson across, I even took a hit to the face/body to show him the correct move 🤜🏻💥🤯

To all our martial arts brothers & sisters: we sacrifice for each other & for Wing Chun. At the end of the day, everything I do, I do it for the people who matter most. Would your Master, Teacher, Sifu or someone special do the same for you?

Before becoming one of Wing Chun’s most respected masters, Chu Shong Tin was a young man working as a secretary at the Hong Kong and Kowloon Restaurant Workers Union, where Ip Man was teaching Wing Chun.

Chu recalled that he initially spent months simply watching Ip Man teach. Encouraged by Leung Sheung and Lok Yiu, he eventually became Ip Man’s formal student in 1951, placing him among the earliest members of Ip Man’s Hong Kong generation. He later wrote that, on Leung Sheung’s advice, he even lived at the union with Ip Man, sharing daily life with his teacher for roughly five years.

Chu became especially associated with Wing Chun’s first form, Siu Nim Tau. His dedication to studying the form earned him the reputation “King of Siu Nim Tau”, a title that remains closely associated with his legacy.

But his study went far beyond a single form. For decades, Chu explored relaxation, structure, the use of the mind and the mechanics behind Wing Chun movement. He eventually established his own school in Hong Kong and spent more than half a century teaching and passing on his understanding of the art.

Chu Shong Tin passed away in Hong Kong in July 2014, leaving behind generations of students and a distinctive approach to Wing Chun that continues to be practiced today.

Today, we give Chu Shong Tin his flowers.🌹

People always say pick on your own size! In this session, I’m working with a student who matches my size—and then some! When he decides to charge in, redirecting & absorbing isn't always enough. You've got to create space, kite back & control the center! 🪁🥏🪃

Continuing our deep dive into Sphere concepts, this round featured some secret techniques pulled right out of the Wing Chun Wooden Dummy form.

To our Brothers & Sisters around the world🌎—no matter how chaotic life gets or how many thousands of miles lie between us, this shared bond of sticky energy remains unbreakable. We walk side by side, grow stronger in the silence & we never lose our Wing Chun way 🤝
