A SAD DAY FOR DIVING

Without Michael Menduno the complexion of diving would be very, very different. M2 gave technical diving its label, and, as a publisher and journalist, he gave it a voice and identity.

Over a period of more than 30 years, Michael was the driving force behind major events such as the OzTek, EUROTek and ASIATek conferences, including most recently RF4 in Malta in 2023. His energy was legendary, his presentations fun and informative, his enthusiasm infectious.

For the staff at DRI, for us all, Michael was a close friend and a lot more than a valued colleague. Michael was a true innovator and inspiration. And we know the sadness we feel is shared by hundreds, thousands of others working in this industry. RIP buddy; you’re going to be missed.
