Storm Tested, WREKCS Strong

The final score may not have gone our way, but the fighting spirit of WREKCS was on full display.

Facing a strong and well-organised Gyeonggi Water Polo Team from South Korea, WREKCS battled hard throughout the match, eventually finishing with a score of 5-15.

With several players unavailable, WREKCS entered the game without a full squad, making the challenge even greater against an experienced opponent. Despite the circumstances, every player stepped up, gave their all, and continued to compete with determination until the final whistle.

There were no shortcuts, no excuses, and no surrender. The team continued to fight for every possession, every defensive stop, and every goal, demonstrating the resilience and character that define WREKCS.

While the result was not what we hoped for, matches like these provide valuable experience and help us continue to grow as a team. We are proud of the effort shown by every player who stepped into the pool and represented WREKCS with pride.

💙 Thank you to our supporters, families, teammates and friends for standing behind us.

🔥 We learn. 🔥 We improve. 🔥 We come back stronger.
Our tournament journey continues, and we look forward to taking on the next challenge together.

💙 Winning Start at APWPT 2026 🌊

WREKCS opened our tournament campaign with a strong 10-6 victory over Shine Water Polo Club from Sichuan, China, earning an important first win on the Asia Pacific stage.

Facing a youthful and energetic Shine squad, our players demonstrated resilience, teamwork and determination throughout the match. After a closely contested opening period, WREKCS gradually took control of the game with disciplined defence, effective ball movement and clinical finishing in front of goal.

🌟 Player of the Match (MVP): Toby To

Congratulations to Toby To for an outstanding performance, leading the team with several crucial goals and making a significant impact on both ends of the pool. His energy, attacking presence and leadership helped power WREKCS to victory and deservedly earned him the MVP honours.

This result reflects the hard work and preparation that the team has put in over the past months, but the journey is only just beginning.

🌊 1 DAY TO GO
WREKCS vs Hong Kong Team A

The wait is almost over.

1 DAY TO GO until WREKCS competes at the 25th Asia Pacific Water Polo Tournament!

One of our most highly anticipated matches will be against Hong Kong Team A on coming Saturday, a squad featuring several athletes preparing for the upcoming Asian Games in September. With players training at an elite level and focusing on international competition, they represent some of the strongest water polo talent in Hong Kong today.

For WREKCS, this match is an exciting opportunity to test ourselves against high-calibre opposition and measure our development against athletes competing at the highest levels of the game.

While our opponents prepare for the Asian Games, WREKCS arrives with the same determination and pride that have always been at the heart of our club. Every player on our roster has earned the opportunity to compete on this stage, and we cannot wait to showcase the passion, teamwork and fighting spirit that define WREKCS.

Tomorrow, we take to the pool not only as teammates but as proud representatives of our club and community.

The preparation is done. The squad is ready. The tournament begins tomorrow.

Join us in wishing Team WREKCS the very best as we embark on our Asia Pacific journey!

⚔️ 3 DAYS TO GO
WREKCS vs Gyeonggi Water Polo Team (South Korea)

Just 3 days to go until WREKCS takes the plunge at the 25th Asia Pacific Water Polo Tournament!

Our second tournament match will see us face Gyeonggi Water Polo Team from South Korea, one of the country's established clubs with experience competing in Korea's domestic water polo competitions.

Known for their disciplined tactics, organised defensive structure and strong teamwork, Gyeonggi represents the technical and competitive qualities that South Korean water polo has become known for in recent years. Their consistency in domestic competition has earned them recognition as a formidable opponent whenever they enter regional tournaments.

As for WREKCS, we are bringing a squad hungry to compete, learn and grow on the international stage. Our club has always been built on passion, resilience and a commitment to developing players through high-level competition. Matches like these are exactly why we train and compete.

This promises to be a fascinating clash of styles between two ambitious clubs with a shared passion for the sport.

💪 Challenge accepted.
