Total solar eclipse in Egypt 🇪🇬 Six minutes of darkness. 🌑

On August 2, 2027, the moon swallows the sun whole over Luxor, Egypt. The sky goes black at midday, the stars come out, the horizon burns gold in every direction, and the darkness holds for more than six full minutes. It’s the longest total solar eclipse on land until 2114. The eclipse of the century. And we’ll be standing right in the middle of it.

I’ve chartered an entire brand-new private dahabiya so our crew can sail the Nile from Aswan to Luxor together, July 28 through August 4. We’ll wake up to sunrise yoga on the sun deck, wander Abu Simbel, Philae, the Valley of the Kings, Karnak, and Hatshepsut’s temple with an expert archaeologist, and eat dinner under the stars while temples glow on the riverbank.

Then on eclipse day, we gather in Luxor, surrounded by temples built to worship the sun, and watch it disappear. We’ll hold ceremony, set down whatever we’re done carrying, and let the dark do its magic.

Every meal, guide, entrance fee, transfer, and gratuity is included. You just show up and look up.

Retreat leaders and retreat goers, this one’s for you. I’ve been leading international yoga retreats for over a decade — Morocco, Croatia, Mallorca, Greece — and I just wrapped a trip where one guest seemed determined to make it miserable for everyone.
