Stage 7 of the Krk Island Trail: Baška → Punat
This day was the cherry on top. Definitely the most challenging stage so far, with 660 meters of elevation gain across steep mountain terrain, but it was worth every drop of sweat.
Words cannot begin to describe the astonishing views, so we'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
A huge thank you to my sister-in-law, Hanna, for joining me on this incredible journey around the Island of Krk. ❤️

Day 6 of the Krk Island Trail: Vrbnik → Baška 🌿🌙
This is our favourite part of Krk Island, home to two of its most spectacular trails: the Orchid Trail and the Path to the Moon.
We set off from Vrbnik between the vineyards whose wines we had tasted the night before. A scenic path high above the coastline led us to the Orchid Trail, a flowing natural trail through a canyon that is also a favourite among mountainbikers.
Soon after, we reached the Moon Plateau: a vast, barren landscape of white rocks that truly feels like stepping onto another planet. From here, the 360-degree views stretch across the surrounding islands and all the way to the mainland.
The Path to the Moon, a winding trail through pine forests, then guided us all the way down to Baška, home to what we consider the most beautiful bay in the entire Kvarner region. Here, we enjoyed a well-deserved Hydra and a swim in the blue Adriatic.
Whether you're exploring by bike or on foot, this is an experience not to be missed when visiting Kvarner.

Stage 5 of the Krk Island Trail: Čižići → Vrbnik
What a great walking day again! Today was a bit cloudy, which meant a welcome break from the usual heat. We enjoyed long stretches through the woods, surrounded by peace and quiet.
About 6 kilometers before the end, we caught our first glimpse of today’s destination: Vrbnik, a medieval town perched on a 50-meter-high cliff overlooking the sea. A scenic coastal path led us into town, where narrow stone streets, lively atmosphere and local wine bars awaited.
To round off the day, we treated ourselves to a delicious dinner and a glass of local wine at a restaurant with a wonderful view. A lovely ending to another memorable stage.🍷🥾🌊

Stage 4 of the Krk Island Trail: Omišalj → Čižići
Yesterday we unfortunately had to skip a day because of heavy thunderstorms, but today definitely made up for it.
This stage was all about the coast. We started with a long walk along the promenade in Omišalj before the trail brought us to the Krk Bridge, which offered some impressive views.
The second part of the stage followed a long single track through Mediterranean scenery, with plenty of sea pines and non-stop views of the blue Adriatic and the mountains on the mainland.
We finished the day in Čižići, a charming little town by the sea.

Stage 2 of the Krk Island Trail: Brzac → Malinska 🌿☀️
Today’s stage was a nice continuation of the journey, with more open landscapes and beautiful coastal views. Along the way, we discovered some incredible hidden gems: a Romanesque church tucked away in the forest, a majestic centuries-old oak tree, and a charming little pond. These are the kinds of places most tourists would never stumble upon.
Porat was the perfect stop along the route. This picturesque harbor village offered a well-deserved break, complete with freshly made pasta, Adriatic seafood straight from the source, and, naturally, an ice-cold Hydra to top it all off. 🍝🦞🍺

Stage 1 of the Krk Island Trail: Krk → Brzac 🥾🌿
A relaxed and enjoyable start to our 7-day adventure around Krk Island. Wide gravel roads alternated with fun forest single tracks, making for an easygoing first day on the trail.
We got caught in about 30 minutes of rain, but the day quickly turned around when a local farmer handed us a bunch of freshly picked cherries straight from his orchard. 🍒
A perfect reminder that the best trail magic often comes when you least expect it. 😋✨

Sea, sea and even more sea. An easygoing stage on smooth gravel tracks. The last 3 kilometers was a very enjoyable stretch right along the coast. 🌊

The 2 highlights of this stage are P**a, the largest city in Istria, and Cape Kamenjak, a stunning nature reservoir with impressive cliffs and turquoise bays. 🌅
