A wreck full of stories beneath the Adriatic ⚓🌊

Discover the John Gilmoure, a merchant steamship whose true name remains unknown. After changing owners and flags several times throughout its history, the ship eventually became known by the name of the John Gilmore engines that powered it.

Considered one of the first ships to sink in the waters of Istria at the beginning of World War I, the wreck offers a fascinating glimpse into the region's maritime history. Well preserved and open to exploration, it is also possible to dive inside the wreck and discover what remains beneath the surface.
