Richard has been playing football with the Bats since 2023 when he had to choose between ballet and Australian Football while living in Budapest. Its safe to say he made the right choice.

🦇Meet the team - Geri 🦇
Geri has been playing football with the Bats since 2021 when he fell in love with Australian culture. Since then he has also taken up cricket and loves throwing chicken salt on his chips. Geri plays in the midfield where he brings speed and endless stamina. Geri's dream holiday destination is to get to Australia one day and see the culture he fell in love with first-hand.

🦇 Meet the Team - Petra🦇

Petra has been with the bats since 2025 after having first played AFL while living in China back in 2021. Her favourite spot in Budapest is sitting on the Liberty Bridge watching the Danube. When she's not playing football shes busy running her online marketplace - Petra Marketplace. Follow her .

Last weekend we made the long drive up to Nysa for round one of the Empire Cup for 2026. First up against Nysa the Bats put up a strong contest being within a few points at half time. Hayward made his return to the Bats after a 2 year break and came in with strong form, kicking a goal to keep the Bats in the match. After half time the home side proved too strong , eventually winning by 24 points. Next up against Prague the Bats had a stirring win thanks to a huge team effort. With goals from Chris, Beni and Zoli helping to seal the win. Congratulations to Charlie Inglis who was voted best on ground.Thank you to our hosts Nysa for putting on a great day! Another special thanks to our guest players from Prague, Vienna and Nysa to help us field a full team. Up the Bats! 🦇
