📣 Player Highlight! 📣

Elisabeth Kaul, Midfield

Q: Where are you from and when did you join the Celtics?
A: I come from a city called Bariloche, in Patagonia Argentina. I joined the Celtics in summer 2021.

Q: How long have you been playing soccer and what is your favorite position to play?
A: I have been playing soccer for the past 9 years, since I was in high school. We had the chance to choose a different sport each year, and as in Argentina female football is pretty common, I decided to give it a try. My favorite position is midfield, as I can assist the forwards and the defenders as well, so it is very dynamic.

Q: What's your favorite aspect about the sport?
A: It brings people from all sort of backgrounds together. While playing, one forgets the issues of daily life and focuses on the team sport.

Q: How do you approach game day - mentally and physically?
A: Mentally I think about strategy and
physically I condition my body during the week so that I am ready for it.

Q: What has the experience been like being a woman playing football in general and/or in Hungary?
A: Back home it's normal to play mixed football, and there are plenty of women teams, tournaments, etc. But here in Hungary it's not common at all. I often played with my workmates, classmates or members of the church and I was the only girl but they were still welcoming. So it feels that female football in Hungary has a lot of room for development.

Q: What advice would you give younger players just starting in football?
A: Practice is key for handling footwork and coordination, but if you really enjoy it, just come, play, and most importantly: have fun!

📣 Player Highlight! 📣

Kozma Orsolya, Striker

Q: Where are you from and when did you join the Celtics?
A: I'm from Hungary. If I remember correctly, I first joined the club in the summer of 2021 for fun, then I rejoined in the summer of 2022 and became one of the players on the women's league team.

Q: How long have you been playing soccer and what is your favorite position to play?
A: I have never played football in a team before. As children, we played with my brothers and friends. I like to play as a striker, but I enjoy being a right or left midfielder.

Q: What's your favorite aspect about the sport?
A: Teamwork, communication. You need to know not only yourself, but also your teammate to be effective in the game.

Q: What has the experience been like being a woman playing football in general and/or in Hungary?
A: According to my experience and based on the feedback of my friends, they think playing soccer as a woman is cool.

Q: What advice would you give younger players just starting in football?
A: Keep what you're good at. Improve what you are not good at. Learn what you don't know. This way you get a balance that you can use on the field.

📣 Player Highlight! 📣

Anne Swisshelm, Defense/Midfield

Q: What can we find you doing when you are not on the pitch?
A: My "real world job" is working as a team leader in an international company and my "part time job" is supporting our team in the background. I also love to spend time with my partner and our cat.

Q: Where are you from and when did you join the Celtics?
A: Pensacola, Florida. I joined Celtics in March 2021 at the very beginning and have been dedicated to the development of the women's league team ever since.

Q: How long have you been playing soccer and what is your favorite position to play?
A: I've played since I was 15. It's hard to say my favorite position! I'm adaptable on the pitch and like to play where I'm most effective and needed.

Q: What has the experience been like being a woman playing football in general and/or in Hungary?
A: Women are very underrepresented in football in Hungary. As an organizer of our team, I see lower recruitment numbers relative to the men's teams, and in finding the right gear and clothing, to give two recent examples. People are generally surprised when I mention that I play foci competitively. Still, I am so grateful that I have this opportunity here!

Q: What advice would you give younger players just starting in football?
A: Everything builds on the basics: fitness, touches, vision and strategy. Focus on learning these with regular repetition. And find a team that you feel good with and have fun playing with :)
