A leather strap looped through a slit in its own end, worn loose over the thumb and index finger. After the shot it holds the bow, no need to grab the grip.
Simpler than a wrist sling, and I think far better: it never gets in the way. What I used competing, indoor, outdoor and field alike.

The oldest, simplest piece in my workshop: a leather base that sits under the stabilizer, clamped in place, nothing else holding it and nothing touching the riser.
It keeps the bow from jumping out of your hand at the shot, so you can shoot with an open grip. Plenty of archers use one, mostly on hunting setups and compound bows.

I made this one in the thicker version, about 7 mm instead of the usual 4 to 5, the dial gauge confirms it. Double-layer, gun-belt style, stiffer and built for more load, yet it still bends in my hand. Full-grain leather on both sides, inner face same as the outer.
