HA-DX Contest, Budapest (2026)

Dear Contesters,

The Hungarian Radio Amateur Society invites you to participate in the HA-DX Contest to be held on 18-19th January 2025.

All hams are kindly welcomed and encouraged to participate in this nice event.

Due to some changes in the past years the HA-DX Contest became a popular event among contest community with over 2000 participants.

There are some minor news in the Rules eg. increasing the youth 6 hour category to 12 hour and delete the 10 minutes rule for "multiplier stations" in the M/S category. I hope these changes helps to make more popular the contest.

Dear Contester,

The Hungarian Radioamateur Society invites you for the upcoming HA-DX Contest on 20-21/Jan 2024.

Last years increasing number of participants made possible to pass the
2000 received logs barrier in 2022 contest. Building on this increasing activity beside the usual SB, AB and 3band categories, the following rules have been updated, introduced:

- increasing the potential fun factor in SSB, from 2024 the self-spotting will be allowed in every category
- to increase the logging accuracy, in case of wrongly logged serial number, instead of 0 points, it will be penalized with a deduction of twice the points value of the contact
- Stations competing for World and Continent awards must provide actual frequencies for all contacts in the log as well as audio recording of the contest (similar to CQ-WW-DX rules):

Record the transmitted and received audio as heard by the operator for the duration of the contest operation. The recording must be in a common format (e.g., mp3) and should include the audio to each ear as a separate channel. The recording must be a continuous recording (not a recording of individual QSOs). Time “off the air” (when not transmitting or receiving) does not have to be recorded.
The recording may be requested by the Committee to help adjudicate the log. The recording files must be provided by the entrant within 5 days of the request. Failure to submit a requested audio recording may result in the reclassification of a log entry or disqualification.

Following the industrial examples MRASZ initiated a national survey with ~50 questions amongst the Hungarian radio-amateurs in 2022 to see the current status of the hobby in the country.

The basic approach was - beside having basic demographic picture - to see the distribution in several topics and potentially creating couple of points which might be usable feeding the strategical target setting activities.

After the evaluation the idea came to (as the next ambition level) make the survey international around the world to have a world-wide projection of the same questions.

The results and evaluation will be shared as an online event
with Q&A session included.

It is planned to make the results publicly available for own analysis.

HA-DX 2022 HA-DX Contest Hungarian Radio Amateur Society

Dear Contester,
It was only a month ago that we posted the list of plaques of last year's contest and now it is high time to remind you about the upcoming HA-DX Contest to be held
15-16th January. Last year we received 2258 logs, so we can expect a nice contest again with lots of HA stations and others from around the World.
To facilitate contesting for young operators, this year we shall introduce a 6 hour category for them, similar to the YOTA contest. This may help them to enjoy the contest even more.
Now we kindly invite you to join us and take part in this nice event.
We would be more than glad if you could remind your HAM friends/community to take part in HA-DX.
