Not good for the sport!
Let us draw the picture;
We have an 18 bike Superstreet bike field here at Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg at the Nitrolympx Hockenheim to run a round for the FIM European Dragracing championship.
18 riders from 9 different countries. Teams are travelling almost half the globe to get here, and pouring every last penny and time in it to make all the rounds.
Today Hockenheimring dropped the ball big time, we were on hold for a part of the day due to some showers, we understand that. We where scheduled for three runs. The last one supposed to be around six. But again a few showers, oil downs etc. The whole class got called at two minutes before 7PM, we had to be in the line up within 10 minutes. We where sceduled for 7.05 PM. Everyone was there on time, once in the line up the track marshall just said nope not gonna happen. Superstreet bike will not run as the noise curfew of 18.30 had passed!!!
After a huge discussion with the race director it got clear it wasn’t happening for us anymore and they started to prepare for the nightshow, and yes there are top fuel cars running but it is a show so that’s allowed …
Anyway we have a 3 rd qualifying round tomorrow morning at 9AM as first ones out on a very cold and damp track, don’t think so.
🤡This is how we feel as racers, not being taking serious and treated just as clowns, no respect for all the effort we put into the sport. Makes you wonder why we still doing this…
We expect much more from an organisation such as Hockenheim!
