As every year, we’re heading to Austria this weekend for the annual medieval festival in Eggenburg!
We’ll be bringing plenty of steel for reenactment, buhurt and HEMA. From mighty halberds to compact outdoor knives, and almost everything in between.

Magyar szablyák a történelemben – 15 példa VB Swordshop termékekkel, 10 percben

Hogyan fejlődtek a magyar szablyák az évszázadok során? Ebben a videóban 15 saját készítésű VB Swordshop példán keresztül mutatjuk be nektek a hazai szablyák fejlődését, mindössze 10 percben.
A bemutatott darabok eredeti régészeti leletek és korabeli ábrázolások alapján készültek, és történelmi haditornára, valamint HEMA vívásra optimalizáltuk őket. Minden penge a saját műhelyünkben készül, gondos munkával, szénacélból, megfelelő hőkezeléssel, hogy ne csak történelmileg hiteles, hanem valóban használható vívóeszköz legyen.

Tournament at Székesfehérvári Királyi Napok

We had an awesome tournament last weekend in the heart of Hungary. At the final longsword category the prize was the sword we made for the museum so we won back the sword 😀 (just for a year).

Tried again the new buhurt longsword version and it works very well!

One year ago this was a challenge for us, as we had never worked with jasper before. While there are historical artifacts/records of jasper (and even rock crystal) pommels on swords and daggers, they’re quite uncommon.

Max vs Ádám in the sword and shield finals
"There’s no better way to test your sword than to bring it into the toughest fights.”

Two weeks ago, European combatans clashed at Visegrádi Viadalok - Tournament of Visegrád.
Again VB arming swords and longswords were put to the test as well - performing exactly as designed, enduring the harshest armored combat. Especially in the finals where a good sword is the best friend of the fighter.

And if one ever fails?

Wonderful photos from the International Palace Games in Visegrád! ⚔️

With beautiful weather, plenty of smiling reenactors and spectators, and an amazing atmosphere, it was truly a fantastic event at Történelmi Vásárok. Our stall was packed with historical steel and handcrafted pieces.

Some of our colleagues also took part in the Visegrádi Viadalok - Tournament of Visegrád. If you haven't seen it yet, check out our previous post for the action!
