The Thresher Shark’s Long Tail Is Its Superpower, it can be up to 50% of its total body length! It uses this incredibly long tail to whip through schools of fish, stunning them and making them easier to catch. It's one of the most unique hunting strategies in the shark world.


Thresher Sharks Are a Diver’s Dream:
Thresher sharks are one of the most sought-after shark species for divers due to their incredible beauty and unique behavior. Bali, especially areas like Nusa Penida, is one of the best places in the world to spot them, making it a prime destination for shark enthusiasts.



Best Times for Thresher Shark Sightings:
Diving conditions around Bali are perfect for spotting thresher sharks, particularly from May to October.
During this period, the cooler waters attract thresher sharks, and divers can expect to encounter them while exploring depths between 20 to 40 meters (65 to 130 feet).


Thresher Sharks Are Deep Divers:
Unlike some other shark species that stay closer to the surface, thresher sharks are known for diving to significant depths, sometimes up to 500 meters (1,640 feet). However, during the day, they often come closer to the surface, especially in places like Nusa Penida, making them more accessible to divers.
