Downward Facing Dog
Adho Mukha Svanasana
Do not be fooled by this pose - it is a KEY part of any yoga practice, and requires awareness, strength and flexibility! It targets your upper and lower body at the same time, so you'll feel it in your hands, arms, shoulders, back, calves, hamstrings and even the arches of your feet.
Make sure to maintain a straight spine. If you feel like your spine is rounding, shorten your stance, bend your knees, and lift your hips higher!

Alignment is key in this foundational yoga pose! It may look simple, but requires full body engagement and awareness, from the feet all the way to the crown of the head! Named for the fierce warrior, an incarnation of Shiva, this Warrior variation increases focus and stamina.

Virabhadrasana I⠀
Don't be fooled by what may seem like a simple and easy pose, Warrior I requires strength, flexibility and awareness in order to maintain!⠀
In practice, scan the body, starting first at your feet. Root down through the front foot, and the outer edge of the back foot to engage the legs. Hug the inner thighs together, and activate mula and uddiyana bandha to support the hips and lift the upper body. Breathe deeply into the chest as you reach fingertips up to the sky!⠀
