Two Fish Divers Resort Bunaken is a tropical-island resort with amazing diving at the coral walls of Bunaken Island!

If you want to experience diving Bunaken then you have come to the right place. We are a PADI 5 Star resort based on Bunaken Island where the sites are only 5-minutes away. Below you will find everything you need to know about Diving Bunaken:

-We have been in Bunaken for more than 15 years, and have shown 1,000’s of people the delights of diving Bunaken.
-Tropical-island dive resort only 5mins from the main dive sites, with no more than 24 guests
-Our full-time dive guides have been diving in the are for many years, and are experts at showing you the walls that Bunaken is famous for.
-With some divers reporting seeing up to 6 turtles on every dive, you will definitely get up close to a turtle! You will also meet our white-tip reef sharks, and our dive guides will help you to hunt for macro life like scorpionfish and nudibranchs.
-In 2004 Bunaken was voted the best wall-diving in Asia, and it has not changed much to this day.
-It offers diving all year-round with sea temperatures of 29/30oC and visibility of 20-30m.
-There are no crowds – at the local airport there are only 25,000 international arrivals per year, this is small compared to the 3million for Bali!

🦀 Sponge Crab | Marine Life Education

Meet the sponge crab, a fascinating crab from the family Dromiidae. What makes it special is the piece of living sponge it carries on its back.

The crab uses its rear legs to hold the sponge over its body. This helps it blend into the reef and stay less visible to predators. The sponge may also provide an additional layer of protection.

The interesting part is that the crab doesn’t simply find a sponge and leave it there—it can trim the sponge to fit its body and carry it as it grows.

A small example of how marine animals have unique ways to survive in their environment. 🌊🦀

The ocean sunfish, commonly known as Mola, is the heaviest bony fish in the world. They can grow to impressive sizes and are often seen drifting through open waters, feeding mainly on jellyfish and other soft-bodied marine life.

🦞 Thank you to our guest diver, Freek Glass for sharing another great image! This pair of Emperor shrimps were spotted as they hitched a ride over the reef on the back of a sea cucumber. In return for free transport, the Emperor shrimps clean the cucumber of parasites along the way - and get a free meal.... it's a win-win!!

🏝 Are you planning to join us in the Bunaken Marine Park this summer? Thanks to the protection afforded by the Marine Park, our reefs, marine life, and turtles continue to thrive year after year!

🦈 As well as a huge resident population of green sea turtles, we also have regular reef shark, eagle ray, and other pelagic sightings, including hunting tuna, Spanish mackerel, and Wahoo. If critters are more your preference, we have hoards of nudibranchs, pygmy seahorses, crustaceans and cephalopods - so don't forget to bring your camera!!

🤿 We love to spot moray eels on our dives - love them or hate them, these invertebrates are fascinating creatures. Did you know that moray eels have a second set of ballistic or pharyngeal jaws inside their primary jaws? The eel can thrust the pharyngeal jaws forward to grab prey initially caught in their primary jaws.

🦞 Can you see the cleaner shrimp in the background? These little critters live in symbiosis with the eel. They keep the eel free from parasites - and in return they get a free meal.

🏝 Are you planning your next dive trip? If you love moray eels and want to learn more about marine life and how to identify different species, why not join us for a FISH Identification Adventure dive while you are here? Choose 2 more specialties and study the corresponding sections in the Advanced Open Water student manual and make the adventure dives. 🍲 After a morning underwater (2 dives) our guests have usually worked up an appetite and are ready for lunch. This is one of our favourite dishes and it's considered an Indonesian classic: Soto Ayam. Simply put, soto means soup and ayam is Indonesian for chicken. And, of course, as we are in Indonesia it's a chicken noodle soup!

🌶 Soto ayam is packed with goodness - pulled roast chicken, noodles, veggies, spices and aromatics and served with a halved boiled egg - and of course you can opt for spicy sambal (chili sauce) if you want to experience a kick of heat!

🥘 Our restaurant serves both Indonesian and Manadonese dishes as well as international dishes for those who prefer a taste from home. We are also able to cater for dietary restrictions and preferences including vegetarian, vegan, lactose intolerant, gluten free and individual requests whenever possible. Let us know your preferences before arriving and our kitchen team will prepare delicious and nutritious dishes that meet your needs.

💦 Making a splash this week in the Bunaken Marine Park! From all of our fleet of dive boats the most comfortable (and safest) way to enter the water is by making a back roll entry. Back roll entries are covered in the PADI Open Water Diver Course but if you have forgotten the steps, ask our Dive Guides for a reminder - they will be more than happy to demonstrate!

🤿 How long has it been since your last dives? If you haven't dived for over a year, or feel anxious about getting back into the water, we recommend booking a pool refresher program on your first day. One of our experienced team will take you through the skills from the Open Water Course (including how to assemble your gear) in our purpose built dive training pool. Refreshers usually only take around 1-2 hours and once completed you'll feel reassured, confident, and ready for dives in the Bunaken Marine Park!

🐠 Bunaken is not just walls and sea turtles! Did you know that our dive sites are packed with critters too? Right now we are having amazing critter sightings - including this tiny-but-beautiful Pontohi Pygmy Seahorse!

Did you know that in the Bunaken Marine Park it's possible to find three species of pygmy seahorse? The bargibanti, Denisa and Pontohi! The Pontohi is relatively easy to recognize as it has a very slender body and red hair-like filaments on its dorsal.

📸 Capturing 'under-over' shots like this can be extremely difficult when using a compact camera but because we have such calm and flat water around Bunaken it's possible to capture impressive images like this one. We love how the image tells the story of Bunaken's natural beauty, both underwater and on land!

🤿 Are you a diver and underwater photographer? When diving in Bunaken you have the choice of shooting wide angle or macro. Our dive sites are teeming with macro critters and our guides are excellent spotters. For wide angle shooters, Bunaken is home to huge green sea turtles, cruising sharks and eagle rays, and stunning coral walls and reef-scapes!

🤿 Our guests' tanks are filled and ready for loading on to the dive boat before we head out into the marine park! Did you know that for our guests diving with Nitrox, every tank is carefully analyzed and the % of oxygen recorded along with the maximum allowable depth?

Are you Enrichd Air Nitrox certified? Diving with Nitrox allows you to stay longer at depth and take advantage of shorter surface intervals. The Enriched Air course only takes half a day and can be added to your fun diving package so you can dive with Nitrox after certification with us!

🏝 The Bunaken Marine Park consistes 5 islands and their surrounding waters, the islands are Bunaken, Manado Tua (pictured here), Siladen, Montehage, and Nain.

🌋 Manado Tua is a dormant volcano island. Did you know that the name 'Manado Tua' translates as 'Old Manado'?

🇮🇩 The Bunaken Marine Park was one of the first official Marine Protected Areas in Indonesia.

🪸 Bunaken Marine Park is located in the heart of the coral triangle which is home to over 500 species of hard, reef building corals.

🌅 Catching another stunning North Sulawesi sunset as we head back to Bunaken Island. Sunset is one of our favourite times to share with happy guests after a day of diving. There is no better way to unwind than with a cold b**r (or w**e) and good company while watching the sky transition through hues of pink, orange, and purple, as the sun sinks below the horizon 🍺🍷
