Pickup games last week. There have been some changes with the pickup schedules recently. We are trying to have pickup three times in a week, depending on the number of players. After lots of discussion South Bali Ultimate (updated name) has decided to move forward with our safe COVID protocol (available here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oWaYV-0qorhSnmziiDi9DEBwtNISZad8s94TT6oAO6U/edit?usp=sharing). And restart hosting games. Please note that because of the lack of government clarity regarding team sports activities IUPA (the national frisbee organization cannot support ultimate activities prior to clear direction from the federal government). However, locally, in Bali, Banjar’s have begun providing permission to play/train on their fields, and we at South Bali Frisbee feel that provides us with the required government approval to play. So here we go!

We are recommitting as a community to build back better. As mentioned last night, we will be having 2 regular games per week + a couple of events here or there. The two regularly scheduled games will be 1. Wednesday on this Seseh field (or another close by) at 4:30. This is a public game. We will really try to keep the levels approachable by newer players. We will be hosting a clinic at 4:30 for new players (probably starting in December) and assuming we have enough interest will plan to have 2 fields (a recreational field and a competitive field) for 5 on 5 games in the short term. 2. On Sunday’s at 4:30 we will be hosting a beach game at 4:30 at the beach in front of LV8 Hotel (between Batu Belig Beach and Berawa Beach). Definitely, a more casual game. We are recommitting to our goals of being more inclusive as a group and being in community with those around us. Including the healthy scene in Ubud (hence the name change to South Bali Ultimate). Perhaps most importantly, while we are super excited to reengage more with the sport we love, we need to be aware of the potential risks of group activities during COVID time. our new normal recommendations for play and follow them. We are doing our best to be safe and not spread any disease (and particularly COVID). The Whatsapp group is also the place where we would notify people if there was an exposure issue, in which case we would suspend play for 2 weeks except in documented cases of PCR or antigen testing. So please be smart, be safe, and have fun!
