His back is flat. Head neutral, and before descending down he is maximizing the stretch in his glutes and hamstrings by pushing back as far as he can followed by descending down! ๐ช๐ผ If you need some help/assistance nailing this exercise try using a wall and stepping 1-2 feet away from it and practice pushing those hips back safely with a surface behind to catch you if need be!

Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way๐
