A closer look at how learning happens during our 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training.

Our instructors take the time to work with each student individually, offering feedback, adjustments, and guidance throughout the practice.

Learning continues even when someone else is receiving feedback. By listening, you begin to notice more, understand different bodies, and see how the same pose can look and feel different for everyone. Even in a group setting, there is space for personal attention and opportunities to grow together in every class.

Downward Facing Dog is one of the most familiar yoga poses, but it’s also one of the easiest to misinterpret. Small adjustments can completely change how the pose feels and where the work happens.

We walk through a few common mistakes and simple cues to help you find more space, stability, and ease in the pose with our instructor Minty.

Save this for your next practice and follow for more yoga tips!

Yoga philosophy is something we learn to embody.

During the training, we explore teachings from Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and the 8 Limbs of Yoga. We also look at chakras, gunas, Ayurveda, and other traditional systems.

These ideas begin to feel more personal through discussion, reflection, and journaling. You start to notice how you think. You see how you respond. You understand your own patterns more clearly.

Over time, philosophy becomes a guide. It supports the way you practise, teach and move through daily life.

Sometimes we spend so much time taking care of the body and the mind that we forget there's another part of ourselves asking for attention.

“Our physical health and our mental health should also connect to our spiritual health. Spiritual health, in this context, is the remembrance and identification with your true nature.”

— Manjeet Mathur, Ulu Yoga Instructor

Yoga doesn't ask you to accept every teaching without question. It encourages you to explore, experience, reflect, and discover what feels true for you.

Props are not a sign that your practice is less advanced.

They help you understand your body more clearly. They can support your alignment and create more space in a pose. They also allow you to practice without forcing your body into a shape that does not feel right.

As our blog author Milan Noelle says:
“Props help your practice meet you where you’re at.”

Every body carries a different structure and a different story. A thoughtful practice begins when we stop judging those differences and start listening to them.

This is one of the reasons we use props throughout our trainings. They help students practice with more awareness. They also show future teachers how to make yoga safer and more accessible. Remember: the poses are never the destination. They are tools to help us be with ourselves, a little more deeply.

Read Milan’s full reflection on the blog section on our website, under the Learning Hub.

A sneak peak from the beach yoga sessions at Ulu Yoga, held every training at Bali’s best beaches.

Bare feet in the sand, warm sunlight on your skin, waves moving beside you and a group sharing the same beautiful moment.

The beach makes every practice feel a little more playful and alive. You breathe deeper and move more freely...
