Arfiana Khairunnisa berhasil naik podium dua minggu berturut-turut di dua negara yang berbeda! Fian --sapaan akrabnya-- kembali sukses finish ketiga di Dustman, ajang UCI Gravel World Series di Kanchanaburi, Thailand, 1 November. Seminggu sebelumnya, dia finish ketiga di Gravelista, Australia. Setelah podium pertamanya di Australia, Fian sebenarnya sudah mengamankan tempat ikut serta di UCI Gravel World Championship 2026. Fian mempertegas kemampuannya lewat podium lanjutan di Thailand. PASANGAN UNTUK SEGALA MEDAN Wdnsdy Journey KS adalah sepeda untuk segala medan. Bisa road, gravel, bahkan single track. Tinggal ganti pilihan gir, ukuran wheelset (700c atau 650b), dan --yang utama-- pilihan lebar ban (700c dari 28 mm ke 45 mm). Founder Wdnsdy Bike, Azrul Ananda, menyiapkan sepeda satu tema bersama sang istri, Ivo. Dua sepeda Journey KS yang pernah mereka gunakan untuk Unbound Gravel di Amerika itu kini di-repaint dengan tema sama. Berbasis raw carbon (warna mentah, menunjukkan kualitas dan kelas hi mod carbon yang digunakan), dipadu dengan sentuhan warna menyala terang. Azrul memilih warna chartreuse (warna racing Wdnsdy), Ivo memilih neon pink (tema BlackPink). Yang terpenting, mereka menuliskan nama tiga anak pada sepeda. nama "Ayrton, Alesi, dan Andretti" tertulis pada fork kanan atas sepeda Azrul, pada top tube sepeda Ivo. Untuk bagian fork kanan, Ivo memilih menuliskan nama para personel BlackPink: Jennie, Lisa, Rose, dan Jisoo. Kedua sepeda disetel dengan grupset single chainring. Untuk foto di sini, Azrul memakai SRAM Rival AXS XPLR dengan wheelset 700c dan ban 30 mm, sedangkan Ivo memakai wheelset 650b dengan ban 47 mm. Satu setelan kecil tapi krusial: Walau Wdnsdy Journey KS bisa "clean look" dengan sistem FSA ACR, Azrul dan Ivo menggunakan stem FSA jenis SMR (semi clean look). Dengan pertimbangan lebih mudah bongkar pasang kokpit saat traveling dan mengatasi trouble saat gowes jauh-jauh. 5.18 Kg School of Suffering How light can you go? With this Best of Weight We**ie series, we would like to show you some of the lightest Wdnsdy bikes out there. Showcasing the quality and carbon choice that we use as a performance bicycle company. This first example is one Wdnsdy AJ1 rim brake owned (and used by) one of our founder, Azrul Ananda. It is a functioning bike, not just for show. And it is only 5.18 kilogram! When we put the Speedplay Zero pedal, it becomes 5.37 kilogram. Still very, very, very light. Made using Torayca T1K carbon, the size 50 frame is already superlight. Azrul uses minimal paint to keep the weigth low, using touches of copper gold of his popular Azrul Ananda School of Suffering (AA SoS) design. Most of the parts used are from German company AX Lightness. Such as handlebar, stem, seatpost, saddle, bottle cages, brake calipers, and the Ultra 25 tubular wheelset. SRAM Red 22 mechanical groupset is used, combined with THM Clavicula Classic crankset (and Extralite chainrings) and Rotor 11-speed cassette. Vittoria Corsa 25 mm tubular tires completes the build. "We can still make this build lighter. Easily under 5 kg. We can do it by using more exotic cables, lighter tires, and some ultralight small parts. But I alwasy wanna make sure that my bike is ready to ride. I don't want a light bike but you cannot ride it because too many things are being compromised", said Azrul. TITANIUM STRONG Friday night is Wdnsdy Titanium night. Two Bentang Jawa finishers arrived in Banyuwangi riding two different Wdnsdy titanium bikes (16/8). Hairudin "Odenk" from Samarinda finished at 20.49, riding his gravel bike Wdnsdy Journey Ti, complete with Wdnsdy wheelset. His official finish time is 5 days, 15 hours, and 19 minuts (135 hours and 19 minutes). Odenk is no stranger to endurance events. He participated in @mainsepedacom 3 Island Journey 2023, East Java Journey 1.500 Km 2024, and now he conquered the prestigious Bentang Jawa 1.500 km. His Journey Ti was always dependable! "This bike is perfect for this kind of event", said Odenk after the finish. Not too long after, at 22.00, Dimas Basudewo arrived on his Wdnsdy AJ1 Disc Ti. The Bintaro Loop legend is known for his expertise in creating routes and loops. And he showed his experience in Bentang Jawa, riding in constant pace and knew how to handle adverse conditions. He knew how to pace against the strong head wind, he knew when to rest and conserve energy. As a result, he finished on Friday night, a day before the dreaded cut off time at Saturday 17.30. He can now rest and enjoy Indonesia Independence Day without having to ride the bike! For sure, his friends and fans in Bintaro will have a big party to welcome him back home! This year's Bentang Jawa have been super up and down for Trihadi Siswanto. The former pair winner in 2022, "Hadi Tombro" entered this year's race as a frontrunner for the win. Riding his Wdnsdy AJ5 with unique SRAM AXS mullet setup, Tombro was fast in the first day, fighting with the front group. However, his right knee began to cause problems. He even have to walk many kilometers because of the issue. He had to take extra rest everyday. Naturally a jovial person, Tombro kept a positive attitude. Laughing and joking with the others along the way. And at the last part before the finish, Tombro might have the most fun race of them all. Because he has to chase and beat his wife, Arfiana Khairunnisa @fiankh , to the finish point in Banyuwangi! Tombro finished just past midnight on Friday (00:37 PM) 115 hours and 7 minutes, only around six minutes ahead of his wife. FYI, Fian also finished 2nd in women solo category! Tombro is classified 11th finisher on men solo, with official finishing time of 4 days, 19 hours, and 7 minutes. "I win!" said Tombro to everyone at the finish. We are proud of our CEO and co-founder, John Boemihardjo, for finishing strong in his debut Bentang Jawa! The 45 year old strong man finished 5th (solo) on his beloved Wdnsdy Journey KS. The same aero gravel bike that helped him finished before sun down (Beat The Sun) at Unbound Gravel 200 mile race in Kansas. John was in contention for top three until getting food poisoning in Central Java. He took extra rest before trying to chase back to the front group. At the end, John finished the 1.500 km race in 105 hours and 20 minutes. John is the only bike brand owner to race his own bike in Bentang Jawa. Age is just a number! At 64 years old, Agus Amir became the oldest finisher at this year Bentang Jawa. He finished the 1.500 km route on the final day, but comfortably under the cut off time. Riding his Wdnsdy Journey KS --fittingly dubbed "The Lansia"-- Agus' official finish time is 151 hours and 3 minutes. This is the second 1.500 km event that Agus conquered this year. In the beginning of the year, he finished @mainsepedacom East Java Journey 1500 Km. Showing his patience and experience, the man from Bontang rode his bike methodically. He rode within his limit and stay discipline to his plan. His biggest challenge was on Friday (16/8), when he reached Ranupani and continued to descend in the dark. But once he got to the bottom, he can pace himself again to the finish. Congratulation to Agus Amir, you are an inspiration to others.
