“I don’t want Siddhis, I don’t want wealth, I don’t want power, I don’t want health. Satgurudeva, I only want Your lotus feet upon my head.”
Na chahe mann siddhi, na chahe samriddhi. Na shakti, nahi arogya dhan sampada. Mathe rakhe Gurudeva Sri Charan kamalarvinda.
This was the constant prayer of Lahiri Mahasya towards his Sri Guru, Mahavatar Babaji. He wanted the unattainable. His goal was the impossible-to-reach kingdom of the SatGuru, to be in His service forever. This intense clarity made someone living an ordinary life into a great spiritual master. Nothing was left unfulfilled for the shishya. The Guru gave him control over all the forces of nature, nothing was Aprapya (unattainable) in the material or spiritual world. But the shishya was filled with wisdom and sharanagati, he wanted that which is eternally Aprapya, eternally out of reach, the lotus feet of the SatGuru Himself. Even the greatest saints worked so tremendously hard to attain His feet, don’t feel that one can just laze around and get ahead on the spiritual path. The yearning to get to Bhagavan should burn everything of the inside. Another saint used to describe the longing for Bhagavan as molten gold hot as lava coursing through his veins, making him unable to do anything except dissolve into that Great Love. They truly understood the longing of the atma. Because everything was offered to the feet of the SatGuru, with no expectation from Him, to give or take when it is His deep will to do so. Every day a bhakta should wake up and walk more strongly towards the aim to reach Sri Hari Narayan, the SatGuru’s infinite lotus feet. The longing for His feet should burn stronger today than yesterday. Make the Unattainable One unable to wait far away from you. Make the One who is above All wish to place His remembrance in your mind firmly and never remove it. You can achieve it if you set your mind to it. Then, with His grace and your firm aim, even if any difficulties or obstacles come, you will cross them like it’s nothing.”
