Most people avoid silence.

Not because they don’t want peace, but because of what shows up when everything else drops away.

At first, it’s rarely calm. The mind can feel restless, unsettled, even uncomfortable. That’s usually the point where people reach for distraction.

But if you stay with it, something begins to shift. Not dramatically, just a quiet sense of things settling in their own time.

This is what a silent retreat offers. Not an escape, just the space to sit with yourself, as you are.

Curious what that feels like?

At first, silence feels simple. You sit, you breathe, you notice the space around you.

But after a while, something else begins to happen.

Without distraction, the mind doesn’t always become peaceful. It often becomes louder, more restless, more exposed. And then, gradually, something shifts.

The noise settles. The need to react softens. What’s left is a kind of clarity that’s hard to find in everyday life.

This is why people step into a silent retreat — not to escape, but to meet themselves more directly.

Curious what that experience is really like?

🌙 It’s back…

After some time in stillness, Yoga Nidra Nights at Samyama are returning and this time, we gather every Friday evening.

If you’ve been feeling the call to slow down, to rest more deeply, to reconnect with yourself… this is your space.

Yoga Nidra is the yoga of sleep, where the body fully lets go, the mind softens, and awareness gently opens. A place where rest becomes more than rest… it becomes medicine.

✨ Come lie down. Be guided. Receive.

🕠 Fridays | 5:30–7:30 PM
📍 Samyama, Ubud

Rest deeply. Remember your essence. Return home. 🖤

Navaratri Bhajans — A Night for Tara

Devotional Singing & Sacred Sound Gathering

Navaratri marks the Nine Nights of the Goddess — a sacred time honoring the many expressions of the Divine Feminine.

During this Navaratri, we turn toward Tara, the Mahavidya who carries us across fear, uncertainty, and inner turbulence.

On March 22 | 5:00–7:00 PM,
we gather at Samyama for a public bhajan — an evening of live devotional music, collective chanting, and a simple ritual of crossing.

Held just after Nyepi, when silence has reset the field, this night invites movement — from stillness into sound, from holding into release.
There will be space to reflect, to sing, and to symbolically place into the waters what you are ready to move beyond.

Entrance: IDR 60K
Join us in marking this threshold.

The only day an entire island goes silent.
In Bali, the New Year begins not with fireworks or parties, but with stillness.

On March 19, the island observes Nyepi, Bali’s Day of Silence.
For 24 hours, everything pauses.

No flights.
No traffic.
No work.
No entertainment.

Even Ngurah Rai International Airport closes.

Homes dim their lights, streets empty, and the island turns inward, creating space for reflection, balance, and a fresh beginning for the new year.

For many visitors, Nyepi becomes one of the most unforgettable experiences in Bali.
A rare moment to step away from noise and reconnect with yourself.

Inspired by this tradition of stillness, we’re holding our next Silent Retreat at Samyama Self-Healing Center.

📅 April 24–26, 2026

A gentle space to pause, breathe, and return to stillness.

If you feel the pull toward silence, you’re welcome here. 🤍

There’s something powerful about being in a room where people can be honest.

Not perfect spaces.
Human spaces.
Where practice, reflection, and community meet.

These are the kinds of spaces we care about holding at Samyama.

For some, it begins with a few days of silence.
For others, it becomes a longer journey into practice and teaching.

If you feel curious to experience it for yourself:

The night Bali releases its demons 👹🔥
Before the island falls into complete silence for Nyepi, something extraordinary happens.

Across Bali, giant demon statues called Ogoh-Ogoh are carried through the streets in loud, chaotic parades. Drums echo, fire lights the night, and villages come together to create a powerful ritual.

But this isn’t just a festival.

In Balinese philosophy, the Ogoh-Ogoh represent negative forces and human shadows , anger, greed, jealousy, chaos. By parading and symbolically destroying them, the community releases these energies before entering the new year in balance.

✨ Chaos first.
✨ Silence after.

On March 18, these parades will happen all around Bali, transforming the island into one of the most unique cultural nights you can witness.

And the next day — March 19 — Bali enters total silence for Nyepi.

No flights.
No traffic.
No lights.

Just stillness.

Inspired by this tradition of reflection and reset, we have our Silent Retreat (April 24–26) a space to pause, reconnect, and experience the power of silence beyond just one day.

If you’re curious about the deeper side of Bali, this might be for you.

At just 19, Ida traveled from Denmark to Bali to join the 200hr Meditation & Yoga Teacher Training at Samyama, curious to deepen both her yoga practice and her understanding of herself.

What she found was more than a training.
A community that meets each student with kindness, humor, and genuine care.

Held in the peaceful rhythm of Bali, the journey became one of patience, compassion, and discovery, a reminder that yoga isn’t about age, experience, or perfection.

It’s about showing up, exactly as you are.

About Samyama’s Yoga Teacher Training
Our 200hr Meditation & Yoga Teacher Training in Bali weaves together yoga philosophy, meditation, pranayama, and self-inquiry within a trauma-informed and supportive learning environment.

She is not done becoming.

Every season shapes her.
The hard ones.
The beautiful ones.
The ones no one saw.
