As one of the oldest and influential outdoor ascociation in Indonesai, Wanadri initiated Dayung Jelajah Nusantara (DJN) Sea Kayak Expedition Series. Kayakasia Indonesia is proud to have supported this pioneering effort since last year’s successful Circumnavigation of Flores by DJN team.

This year, the team had successfully circumnavigated Belitong Island. Despite the distance shorter than Flores, the exposure of the South Easterly wind and the potential habitats of crocodiles were among their toughest obstacles in otherwise awe inspiring nature and cultural journey.

The team aims to capture the story of an Island historically famous for its mines, now trying to protect its natural ecosystem and culture history in the face of climate change and industrialization. In the hope that ecotourism will be a better choice for the Island to thrive upon.
