✨Against The Odds✨

Did any National Hunt stallion ever come back from the dead like Sandmason? He went from covering just one mare in 2017, to suddenly becoming one of the most in-demand sires in Ireland almost overnight.

His revival started when Summerville Boy and Black Op won Grade 1 novice hurdles at Cheltenham and Aintree in 2018 – even though by that point only ten runners by him had reached the track. The strike-rate was impossible to ignore and the phone hasn’t stopped since.

Today, Sandmason boasts the third-highest percentage of RPR 125+ runners this season among non-French National Hunt sires, only just behind Fame And Glory and Jeremy. His latest crops include graded winners like Electric Mason, Personal Ambition and I’ll Sort That – proving his quality was never an accident.

His success even inspired Lacken Stud to stand Khalifa Sat, runner-up in the Derby and already showing promise with his first small crop. Watch this space – the story might only be getting started.
