Congratulations to the September mamas 💜💜welcome to the world September babies! My heart sings every time I get a message to say “can’t come to pregnancy yoga tonight!” because baby has arrived ✨✨

I’m so blessed to share this journey from blossoming bumps to beautiful babies. Spaces are coming available in prenatal yoga for October and November please do get in touch soon to join as space is limited

I do have plans for new mama and baby yoga classes but it won’t be till November. Please do message me to express interest.

On St Brigid’s Day I think of her mother.
Broicseach gave birth to Brigid as she was coming in the door - half in, half out; and bringing in milk.
This short, simple vignette of a momentous event is stunning in its symbolism. Birth itself, between worlds; the mother so tangibly physically in her body yet also unreachable in a zone all of her own, out of this world.
The threshold between her life as it was and how it will never be the same again.
The portal for a whole new life she is about to bring forth and meet for the first time. The incoming milk to comfort, protect and sustain this baby!
Brigid herself, the symbol of fertility, birth and abundance, of light emerging from darkness.
These first days of Spring are the light at the end of the portal of Winter. We still have darkness to go but here in Wexford the daffodils are already blooming: enough that we can afford to pick one for an altar in my yoga studio this week.

The book is ‘Birth and the Irish: a Miscellaney’ a substantial collection of short histories about birth in Ireland, edited by Salvador Ryan and, in a chapter by Jenny Butler, where I found out about Brigid’s mother.

In November 2020, without due diligence and with no evidence of linking the ban to adverse outcomes, the HSE suspended birthing in water in home settings.

Please sign the petition:

“To ask the Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly to, instruct the HSE to lift this ban on water birth as part of the National Home Birth Service with immediate effect and to enable women and birthing people in Ireland to have the safe choices in labour and birth that is consistent with a 21st century maternity service”

Pregnancy Yoga Classes: Continuing throughout the rest of April and May, no classes in June whilst I finish my thesis - so do get them with me in now 💛

Saturday mornings 9:30AM with a 7-day recording available afterwards.

13 more slings arrived today, bringing our total so far to 73.... we have delayed sending off our package by a few more day as we know that there are more enroute. The response has been truly phenomenal!

Babywearing Ireland are collecting baby slings for Ukraine. Mai Tai style and ergonomic slings only, check in with them if you’re not sure

We at Babywearing Ireland are organising a shipment of slings to Ukraine.

We have been requested to only send Mei Dai style carriers and ergonomic full or half buckles. No stretchy/woven wraps or ringslings.
Please only send slings in good / very good/ excellent condition.
**Only Ergonomic slings, no narrow based carriers.

If in doubt please send us a message and we can let you know if your donation is suitable.

If you North Dublin you can drop sling by Wednesday to Earthmother elsom and she will send them all together to me.

For South Dublin you xan drop of to Snugglebugs with Nugent, Mon 9-2 or Wed 9-1.

ONLINE Pregnancy Yoga on Zoom
Saturday mornings 9:30AM

Online classes are great as a fallback option AND they do have the benefit of forming a habit of using supports in your own home for certain poses, which is especially great for pregnancy in preparation for labour and birth.
