*Junior Parkrun @ The Manor Fields Adare*

We are happy to share news of a new Junior Parkrun coming to Adare.
Junior Parkrun is a free weekly 2km event for those aged 4 to 14 (consisting of two 1km laps).

The next step is gather an interested group to help with volunteer roles. This could be anything from marshalling to token scanning at the end. You don't need to volunteer weekly, and any help will be hugely appreciated.

With something for everyone, the Limerick Wellbeing Series event on Limerick Greenway will feature two runs, a cycle, wellness sessions, an Easter egg give-away and more! There will also be local wellbeing professionals hosting sessions throughout the day.

This event will take place at the Barnagh Greenway hub - Platform 22 Cafe, allowing you and your families to explore the beautiful Limerick Greenway. Whether you walk, cycle or wheel, we hope to see you there! 🐰

5k Fun Run in Aid of Parkinson's Ireland

Mary Ita O'Connor, West Limerick AC club member and friend, is organising a 5km charity fun run in Newcastle West in aid of Parkinson's Ireland. We would encourage everyone to come along as it promises to be a great day out for all the family while supporting a fantastic cause.

Location: The Demesne, Newcastle West
Date: Sunday 13th April
Time: 11am
Cost: €15 adults, €5 children, €30 family

Registration on the day from 9.30am in Newcastle West Community Centre.

Mary Ita was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2002. She is a member of West Limerick AC, runs regularly at Limerick Regional Athletics Hub and participates in the weekly parkrun in Newcastle West. She featured in the RTÉ programme "Big Life Fix" in 2024 and was presented with a new rollator, which has greatly helped her with her running. Limerick GAA is a huge part of her life where she supports both club and county. Her attitude to her condition is.. "I have it. Get on with it".

The dust has settled on our Curtins Londis Adare 10k road race and we wanted to say thank you to everyone who was involved in making it such a great event.

Our Adare 10k race is the main fundraiser for our club West Limerick Athletics Club. Our committee work behind the scenes for months in preparation with the aim to put on the best race possible for our runners.

The day would not be possible without the support from Sponsors, Volunteers, Gardai, The Red Cross, Local Residents and of course you , the runners, who travel from far and wide to support us on a yearly basis.

The event sold out in a record time of 11 hours in October and despite the weather forecast we had a memorable race day on Sunday 23rd.

Well done to Jake O Regan, who is now a two time winner, as well as the course record holder and to Amy Murphy, local athlete and West Limerick A.C. member on her first race victory in Adare.

Well done to everyone who ran last Sunday and we wish you the best of luck in your running in 2025.

Entries for next year will open at the end of October. We hope to welcome everyone back on February 22nd 2026.
