🏌️‍♂️⛳ Ability Coaches Complete Pitch & Putt Course! ⛳🏌️‍♀️

The Ability Coaching Programme continued today with another fantastic milestone as Pitch & Putt Ireland returned to Longford to complete the Pitch & Putt Coaching Course! 🌟

👏 A huge thank you to Development Officers Mark & Niamh, who were excellent throughout the course. They delivered the education component, assessed coaching techniques, provided constructive feedback, and have been highly supportive from start to finish.

🎯 The next exciting step is for our newly qualified coaches to begin delivering sessions within their own communities:

✅ Michelle and service users from St. Christopher's will lead peer-to-peer coaching sessions.
✅ John & Sally will deliver sessions within their residential service.
✅ John & Fidelma are aiming to join forces to deliver inclusive sessions in local schools. 🏫⛳

🌈 Every participant excelled throughout the programme, demonstrating enthusiasm, commitment, and a passion for inclusive sport. We are excited to watch their coaching journeys develop over the coming months!

👏 A special thank you to Ardagh Moydow GAA for providing a wonderful venue for the course.

🏸 Next up, we turn our attention to Badminton Ireland, who will visit Longford later this month to deliver a Shuttle Time Course. We can't wait to get started!

🎉♿🏋️‍♀️ Longford's New Inclusive Gym Space is Up & Running 🏋️‍♂️♿🎉

We're delighted to see our Wheelchair Pilot Gym Programme officially commence, with participants from St. Christopher's Services taking part under the guidance of their Recreation Officer, Michelle 👏💪

😊 The fantastic group have been busy testing out the new gym equipment, exploring the space, and providing valuable feedback to help ensure the facility is welcoming, accessible and inclusive for everyone.

💬 Michelle from St. Christopher's Services said: "The Wheelchair Inclusive Gym has allowed users of all mobility levels to exercise safely and independently, while giving them access to try out exercise machines that they would never have been able to use before. It has also boosted their confidence in the gym environment." 💙

🗣️✅ Their insights will play a key role in shaping future programming and making the gym space the best it can be for people of all abilities.

🌿🧘‍♂️✨ Inclusive Tai Chi Gets Underway in Edgeworthstown! ✨🧘‍♀️🌿

Longford Sports Partnership was delighted to kick off our 8 Week Inclusive Tai Chi Programme for adults with additional needs last week at The Green, Edgeworthstown🙌💚

The venue provides the perfect setting, with beautiful views of greenery from the windows creating a calm, relaxing and welcoming atmosphere for all participants 🌳🍃😊

A huge thank you to David and all at The Green for warmly welcoming the group and supporting this inclusive initiative 🤝👏

Special thanks also to LSP Tutor Pat, who expertly guided everyone through the session. Tai Chi is suitable for people of all abilities, helping to improve balance, coordination, wellbeing and relaxation 🧘‍♂️✨🌟

Well done to everyone who attended the first session! 🎉 Pat is looking forward to welcoming the group back again this week for another enjoyable morning of movement and mindfulness 💚😊
