Boyne U16 girls are part of a combined team with Ardee and Skerries this year and will play under the name of ABS for the season ahead. The girls had their first home match of the campaign on Sunday the 27th at Shamrock Lodge. ABS dominated the opening 10 minutes of play before the Dundalk teams defence gave way to allow ABS go in for their first try under the posts. Dundalk struck back nearly straight away to bring the sides level on 5-5. ABS regrouped after conceding and went from strength to strength throughout the game. Some fine passages of play with the ball moving through the hands when the opportunity arose. ABS also defended well in defence and didn’t allow the Dundalk team cross over again for anymore tries. The final score was 46-5 to ABS in the end. A result and a performance that all three clubs are extremely proud of.

With girls rugby one of the fastest growing sports in Ireland. Girls rugby is well and truly kicking down in Drogheda. The club have teams at u12s, u14s, u16s and u18s level.
