On the last Saturday of May 2022 a group of cyclists (and their bicycles) will be 'bused' from Ashbourne to Galway so that they can cycle back over two days.
There they will breakfast in Galway before mounting their bicycles to cycle from the West Coast in Galway to the East Coast in Meath, (Laytown), over the next two days.
The group, and their support team, will overnight in Athlone on the Saturday night, and will enjoy some other "refreshment" breaks along the journey on the Saturday and Sunday.
This is not a race, it is a challenge for charity. All participants will start together from the Galway Coast and hopefully everybody will finish together at the east coast in Laytown on the Sunday evening.
Participants will help each other along the way, and hopefully will enjoy the experience.
Based on previous experience the event is a fun event, with a serious side, which is to raise money for charity. All participants will be required to raise some sponsorship money to support the Charity.
Everything is now in place for Coast2Coast 2022. Stay safe everybody and "enjoy the ride".
Two short weeks to go to Coast2Coast 2022.
Looking forward to it all after a two year absence.
Only 8 short Weeks to go 'till C2C 2022.
Are you in?

Sadly, as you know, there is no action on Coast2Coast 2020 this weekend. Our thoughts go out to those who have been directly affected by Covid 19.
We would like to remind everyone that we need to continue with all of the measures necessary to minimise the spread of this terrible illness.
Please stay home as much as possible, go out only when absolutely necessary, exercise only withing the 5 km recommended limit, practice the 2m social distancing, hand hygiene, and wear a face covering when in enclosed areas, (shops, etc).
Please stay safe and try to keep others safe as well.

Lions โHero Shieldsโ for Front Line Health Workers
Not all heroes wear capes but Irish Lions Clubs are helping to make sure our heroes wear shields. Ashbourne Lions Club is proudly contributing โฌ1,000 to the Lions Hero Shield Project.
This is a Lions Club project which will see up to 200,000 โHero Shieldโ face visors distributed free of charge to front line workers, in the battle against COVID-19, throughout the island of Ireland. Island wide Lions Clubs are funding โฌ100,000 which is the cost of the project.
These shields have already been commended by a number of government departments.
It is our small helping hand to the drive to protect our front line workers in the existential battle against this pandemic which has invaded our shores. Ashbourne Lions Club fundraises to support the community and this initiative is our contribution, in this time of crisis, to the well being of our community.
