Bearna Na Forbacha 5
With both Athenry and Bearna Na Forbacha braving the hot sun, it was a tough contest from the outset. Bearna took the lead though with a free kick from outside the box . Athenry fought back, but another break from Bearna and it was 2:0.
Digging deep the Athenry boys fought back. Quick play from Odhran to Evan allowed him to bring the ball from the right with a superb cross in to the box. A quick footed Jolly came out of nowhere, in the air, landing a knee to the ball, forcing it straight to the back of the net. Game On! Half time Score 2:1
In the second half, strong attacking paid off; several shots on target with several rebounds finally found Evan who drove it in to the Bearna goal. 2:2 with everything to play for.
The next 20 mins were tough, with both teams putting in max effort, but no scores. 2:2 at full time.
When extra time kicked off it was still evenly matched but a lucky break from Bearna let them take the lead. Soon Bearna were up by 2 and not long into the 2nd half of ET, were 3 up thanks to a penalty.
With not long left Athenry didn’t give up. Strong attacking from all helped Riley drive forward securing the final goal.
Not our day but a phenomenal effort from the whole team. Thanks to our coaches, supporters and sponsors epswater. Here's to next season...

Congratulations to our Boys U15A, who won the Premier / Championship Division Cup last Saturday, in a thrilling game at Eamonn Deacy Park, defeating a strong Knocknakarra team 1–0 in the final.

Important date for the diary. A valued member of our club became badly injured in a game earlier this season while playing with our mens first team. He has been unable to work since as he recovers.
