Today, Monday 20th at the pitch in Newcastle, time 11am, the 13 aside boys team play Carrabane NS in their last group game of the Allianz Cumann na Mbunscol competition. If they win they are through to the county final. Please support if you are nearby! It will be e great to see a match been played in our local pitch.

There is no end of sporting talent at St Oliver Plunkett N.S Newcastle. The day after winning the 13 aside hurling final, the school had two teams representing Galway at a Cumann na mBunscol rounders blitz in the GAA Centre of Excellence at Beken, County Mayo.
I accompanied Mr O'Connor as a chaperone and couldn't speak highly enough about the children. Their behaviour was exemplerary. And they represented their school with such honour.

Best of luck to the girls from Newcastle NS who are playing for Athenry in this weekend's feile Rounders competition.

Great news coming from Loughgeorge. A win for the Newcastle boys! Winning the Cumann na mBunscol 13 aside on a scoreline of St Oliver Plunkett N.S 04-12 Cappataggle 01-03.
