A super 4th place for Ciarán Kelleher in the Senior Boys 3,000m All Ireland Schools final.
Congratulations to Ciarán who raced brilliantly today and set a new outdoor PB for 3,000m by 23 seconds. From the start Ciarán was in 4th place and went through the 1st kilometer in 4:25 minutes. With 800m to go he came up on the shoulder of Evan Walsh, Kilkenny CBS. Over the last 800m they battled it out with Evan pulling away in the last 100m. A superb performance by Ciarán as this is his first year senior and he will be eligible for this race for the next two years.
The race was won by Mathew Newell of Claregalway and set a new national record
Well done Ciarán.
