Recap on Master Worlds 24

Squat 97.5kg 2.5kg under my PB
Bench: 52.5 = National record
DL: 130kg +5kg PB new National record
Total: 280kg +2.5kg PB new National Record

I was so happy and grateful to go 9/9, squat opener was a little off so we pulled back on 2nd lift and 3rd lift was smooth but 2.5kg under my personal best.
Bench was smooth with a little left in the tank = my national record.
I was really chasing a PB in Deadlift as had been stuck at 125kg for the past few years at International comps. The calls for squat and bench left a little in reserve for deadlift which I used to my advantage and gained the much coveted PB and new National record at 130kg which also gave me a new total and national record.

Thanks for all the support and good luck messages from my friends, work colleagues and siblings all very much appreciated. My fellow lifters and Elaine who supported enthusiastically on the day. Thanks to for making the trip and ongoing support.

I would like to thank for affording me the opportunity to represent my country and gain my 7th cap for Ireland.

My new coach of 10 weeks and handler on the day for being so astute and making the best calls on the day which facilitated me in breaking the deadlift national record which I had been trying to achieve at the last few international comps. Thanks Jen and excited to see where we can go from here. for his calming effect and support in the warm up room and the other half of the top class coaching team for Masters thank you to our masters manager for all her hard work behind the scenes and also much appreciated.
