Flatline Athlone Shannon Swim

With over half of the Flatline crew involved in Ironman training this year its just too much for us to run this event this year and deliver it up to the Standards that we set.

We are going to bring the race back for 2015. Make it bigger and better if we can and try to make the Flatline Athlone Shannon Swim one of the biggest swim event on the calendar.

So, for the moment your organisers are swimming up and down the pool, making the Blooms our friends and running when we don't feel like it so there is not enough time left for Safety Plans, Sponsors, Prizes, Boats, Buoys, Buses, Castles, Insurance, River Flow and Temperature, Life Guards, Road Closures, Changing Tents, Toilets and all the other things that don't really get notice. Sure isn't it only an 'aul swim'.

It will be back but not for 2014.

Temp of Lough Ree has jumped ack up to 20 degrees, its time for a dip.

Round Three of the Midland Aquathon Series is hosted by Athlone Triathlon Club tomorrow evening at 19:00. Great practice session for a fiver

There are some items of footwear that were left in the changing tent last sat eve. If anyone wants to collect them please let me know ASAP before we head to charity shop.. Thanks..

Well, we thought that didn't go too bad for first time. It's no use without swimmer, marshals, sub aqua, kayaker and all the other helpers. Well done all
