Player Development Plan briefing document

Since the end of January, the FAI has been running a number of consultation workshops with leagues and clubs in various locations across Ireland. Many people who were in attendance requested a briefing document while the consultation process is ongoing, and this is now available for download.

The draw has been made for the 2015 Galway Macron Cup and gives the two competing ADSL sides some exciting but tough ties.
The ADSL U-13 Academy will compete in the U-13 Elite competition and find themselves in the Group of Death with the Northern Ireland International team and the Schoolboy Leagues from Kildare, Kerry and Carlow.
The ADSL Elite Squad will kick off Group A on Wednesday morning 5th August against the Kildare Schoolboy League and play again that Wednesday evening against the Northern Ireland international squad. That is a tough match but what an opportunity to play against a full international side. These are not opportunities you get every day!
On Thursday 6th August the ADSL Elite also have two games, first against the Kerry Schoolboy League and then finally against the Carlow League. Kerry schoolboy football is on a real high having won the Kennedy Cup this June and these will be tough tests for this ADSL Squad.
The ADSL U-12 Academy will compete one year out of their age-group in the U-13 Boys Section. This however is an investment in these players development and they find themselves in Group C of the Boys competition with DDSL Premier Division side, Belvedere and the Galway Schoolboy League. The ADSL Boys will play those Group games on Thursday 6th August next.
Before all of that both these ADSL Squads will travel to Cardiff next week to take part in the Welsh Super Cup.

Kick Start 2 Coaching Course

A Kick Start 2 coaching course will take place in Ballinahown on 25th/26th July 2015.
The course is designed to assist coaches in the development of the player’s (aged 9-12 years) soccer specific and FUNdamental movement’s skills in game related functions, progressing into small sided games.
The course is a mix of theory and practical so please bring a pen, notepad and gear to participate in the sessions. They will take place on either grass or all-weather depending on the weather. You should also bring a packed lunch with you. Booking must be made on-line through www.fai.ie

ADSL 2015

The ADSL annual general meeting took place on Monday 6 July in the Shamrock Lodge hotel. Prior to the commencement of proceedings, a minutes silence was observed for all those who passed away in the last year, remembering in particular ADSL President Breffni Rowan along with Lonnie & Martina Hayes whose family have strong links with underage football over the years.

The following were elected to the executive committee for the coming year.
