This fantastic local club needs your support raising funds to cover the cost of getting young boxers to tournaments.

They need funds to ensure their club can continue to develop these young people and grow the club which has a long history domestically and internationally.

Riverstown Boxing Club members will run Corrin Hill, Fermoy tomorrow morning @ 10am .
Outside of all our Boxer's, Coaches , Volunteers and Parents , anyone else that want to take part please do join in .

This is all part of our fundraising efforts undertaken in mid September on our door to door collection.

Great write up on the back page of the Echo today on the successful Cork Select Boxing Team at the recent Monkstown International Box Cup where the Team returned with Best Team Award .
Riverstown Boxing Club had two boxers on this Team , Patrick McCarthy and Michael Dooley who both won Gold Medals .

The Cork selection team of boxers were represented by seven clubs across the region.

Get well soon Ciara .

A Cork girl who lives with a complicated neurological condition realised one of her greatest dreams on Saturday as she got to see her heroine Katie Taylor in action.

Last year, Glanmire’s Ciara O’Donovan was diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder, where there is a problem with how the brain sends and receives signals, affecting body movement, senses, or cognitive function without physical damage to the brain’s structure.

Following her diagnosis, Ciara, who boxes with Riverstown Boxing Club as well as playing football and swimming weekly, has had to pause all sport and spent a period in a wheelchair.

Eleven-year-old Ciara says that watching her hero Katie Taylor made her want to take up the sport.

What an occasion at Croke Park yesterday.
Katie Taylor put on an exhibition of boxing for the 83,000 people attending.
Croke Park looked amazing and fair play to everyone involved in that .
The scenes at the end with her family in the ring was just fantastic.
Thank you Katie for everything you have done for boxing over your astonishing career .
It was great to be there and witness the whole occasion.
