Glebe North Football Club

Glebe U15 Major 1 travelled to Greystones Utd this morning for their first game of the season.

The lads put in a great battling performance, with some players having to shift positions due to injuries. A good goal from Frankie Mooney, following an assist from Rhys Edwardson, and a superb strike from Logan Stirrat helped the lads come away with a well-earned 2–2 draw, which was a fair result on the day.

A solid team performance to start the season.

Our Kids Academy got the new 2026/27 season underway this morning, and it was fantastic to see so many new faces alongside some familiar returning players.

It was a great session, full of fun, learning and enjoying football! ⚽️

A big thank you to our coaches Karen, Andy and Shane, with the support of Ava, for making the morning so enjoyable.

Our Senior 3B side were also in action away to local neighbours **Balrothery FC**, in an entertaining game that saw both sides share the points.

The biggest positive from the game was once again the opportunity given to seven Under 18 Academy players, showcasing the strength of the player development pathway at Glebe North FC.

Starting were Zain Saleh, Scott Campbell, Cian O’Brien, Jonathan Olorunyomi, Kyle Brady, Victor Oyekunle and Callum O’Connor all Under 18 players stepping up to senior football. 👏

Balrothery took an early lead, but Glebe responded well and Thomas Weakliam got us back on level terms in the 27th minute. ⚽️

The home side regained the lead, but right on the stroke of half-time, Scott Campbell produced a fantastic finish to score his first senior goal and make it 2–2. What a moment!

The second half continued to produce some excellent and entertaining football from both sides. Glebe showed great composure and continued to play with confidence, and in the 60th minute, another product of our youth pathway, Cian O’Brien, found the net to put Glebe North 3–2 ahead

The young Glebe side continued to work hard and defend their lead, showing great character and organisation. Unfortunately, Balrothery found a last-minute equaliser to make it 3–3.

A very positive performance and a great result for such a young senior development squad.
