Congratulations to David Kitt
David Kitt clinched his third win of the year with a dominant 3&1 defeat of John Lazor to clinch the 5th Farrell Cup at The Stanwich Club in America.

The Athenry man had beaten Thomas McCarthy 4&3 in the semi-final and he continued his excellent play against Lazor in the decider. Kitt went 1UP after a birdie on the 6th and powered on from there moving four-up through eleven holes.

Lazor stopped the bleeding briefly with a win on 14 but Kitt sealed victory in style with a lengthy birdie putt on 15.

“I had a good year to date, I won two national championships in Ireland and had a lot of consistent golf I knew my game was going in the right direction. I was unsure because it’s such a different challenge over here compared to what we have at home. It’s great that I can see my game travels to the US,” said Kitt.

Mountbellew Golf Club
Members are reminded that from this Thursday the 1st of October to Sunday the 1st of November inclusive the course will be reversed every day for the month for competitions and casual rounds of golf.
All Players will commence their round of golf on the 10th hole and they will then play the
10th hole
11th hole
12th hole
13th hole
14th hole
15th hole
16th hole
17th hole
and finish their first 9 holes by playing the 9th hole.
Players will then commence their second 9 holes on the 1st hole and then play the
1st hole
2nd hole
3rd hole
4th hole
5th hole
6th hole
7th hole
8th hole
and finish their round of golf by playing the 18th hole.
If you are only playing 9 holes you must also start on the 10th hole.
We will still use the current score cards. Players need to be mindful that they are starting on the 10th hole and mark their card as outlined above.
