Took a trip to Fitforlong on Saturday morning last week just to have a look over my body
Donncha did lots of work on my hips/Lower back/groin and quads
Even though I wanted to kick him when he had his elbow in my groin ππ
Very impressed with his interest and knowledge sound man π
Will be going back to get my shoulder worked on in the next few weeks

A picture came up on my Facebook memories this morning that reminded me it's one year since I started my fitness journey in F1T. When I look at that picture that was only taken one year ago I am so happy with how far I've come. Starting that journey was the scariest thing I've ever done ( and I've done some scary stuff).
I had never set foot in a gym before. From the first day I walked into F1T I knew I was in the right place. No mirrors and no promises of miracles or quick fixes... just plain hard work. Sometimes I used to think to myself that I don't know what I'm training for but I hope it never happens!! Any journey is better with a good travelling companion.
I have the best companion ever in Sean O Gorman. We meet twice a week for just 30 minutes and this has made such a difference to me. I am much stronger and my body has changed dramatically. Sean has pushed me ( often with huge resistance from me) and encouraged me every step of the way. I am progressing on a weekly basis and every session is a bit tougher than the one before. What I've noticed over the last few weeks is a change in my attitude. I am more confident ( that I won't actually die!!) and am enjoying the challenge. I am no longer complaining and am pushing myself as hard as I can in the sessions. I now go to classes on the days I don't have PT.
I now know that I have made a proper lifestyle change. What I love about working with Sean is his gentle manner - he is very calm ( believe me I have tested him) and I can relax with him. We also have the bit of craic which is important. Sean is a pure professional. He is passionate about his work and wants the very best for his clients. That's a great energy to work with. Along with the physical changes I have also experienced positive changes in my mental health. Over the last year I am less anxious. I have greater self esteem and self belief.
I am enjoying life more . My sleep has improved and this impacts positively on my mood. I work as a psychotherapist and I have always read about the benefits of exercise. This last year has given me the opportunity to KNOW the benefits. I now encourage clients to take the step to join classes or PT. many of them do because they have seen the transformation in me. Thank you Sean for walking the journey with me. You're a tough task master but this has made all the difference. I look forward to continuing the journey .

I've been training with Sean for months and even though I was getting great results I felt I had plateaued with my progress. I felt I was lacking the motivation to really pay attention to my training and nutrition. Sean suggested a shoot to me at the end of January. It was something I never imagined I'd be capable of doing but I felt I had nothing to lose and it was the extra push I needed! Sean gave me a training plan and guided and advised me every step of the way. He pushed me to my limits in each and every session (always legs)π. I can't thank him enough for his help and support. Couldn't have reached my goal without his knowledge and expertise. A really fantastic personal trainer π

Tip Thursday
Myself and Gally will be taking our Saturday morning class in F1T at 8:30 in aid of Pieta House. The class is free, everyone is welcome so bring along all your friends and family if ye want to be involved in a fun and enjoyable environment while getting a great workout :-) all donations are in aid of Pieta house its for a great cause :-)

''I've been training for almost a year now in F.1.T. but it was always on and off. I'd go for a few weeks and then give up again, or had holidays or weddings etc that would throw me off it. So at the end of the summer, after my third holiday that year I decided to sign up for personal training with Sean O' Gorman Personal Trainer. I had heard he was a tough trainer so I was definitely nervous starting off, but from the minute we started our first session the nerves just disappeared! He was so nice and constantly reassuring me that I could do it, despite all my moaning!! π
Sean gave me my meal plan which was brilliant because it was personalised for me, which foods I do and don't like! It was all about me! π He has been so supportive both in and out of the gym, answering my random questions about food or training at all hours!! π My goal was to lose weight and tone up, end of, but I never expected to actually enjoy going to the gym!
I started off only going twice a week maybe at the most, to doing 2 pt sessions and 3-4 classes a week! The classes are amazing! Each trainer is so different and push you all the way! I still have a lot of work to do, but I'm delighted with the results so far. ππ»I'm so happy that I started working with Sean and all the staff at F.1.T. they're all amazing and I can't wait to get stuck into it for 2017!! πͺπ»''

I decided I wanted to try personal training so I approached Sean and 8 weeks was the plan I told him I had a magic number in my head and straight away he said no to my number .I don't think he realized how disappointed I was to hear no ,I wanted to get up and leave but I'm glad I didn't ,after listening to his reasoning I realized that I was too focused on the wrong thing it wasn't all about weight loss but about fat loss ,eating controlled amounts at the prescribed times not skipping meals. I'd be lying if I said I didn't look at the scales any more but it's not the end all and be all of everything! To see the disappointment on his face when I fudged and the guilt I felt without him even getting angry and also his joy and excitement and mine of course when we do and assessment has kept me well in check for the eight weeks . To say I'm happy with the results is an understatement couldn't recommend Sean enough If I could change one thing about it ,it would be nothing so here's to another 8 weeks .
