Sasha Williams becomes the first Old Wesley girl to reach this level - a fantastic achievement and a huge moment for girls rugby within the club!

Congratulations to Eoin Deegan on being named the AIL Division 1B Player of the Year 👏

Eoin “Deego” joined Old Wesley straight out of school from Roscrea and quickly made his mark. In his first year at U20s level, he made the move from scrum-half to centre and went on to win Player of the Year in both of his U20 seasons.

Since then, Eoin has become a cornerstone of the Senior 1st XV midfield and a hugely important figure within the club. This award reflects not only his outstanding performances this season, but the consistency, commitment and quality he has brought every time he’s worn an Old Wesley jersey over the past eight years.

Our Under 12 Girls had the privilege last Saturday of playing the half-time minis match during the Ireland v Wales Women’s Six Nations game in Belfast 🔵🔴

After receiving their matchday tops, the girls put in a fantastic performance, with support play, line breaks and tackling on display all across the pitch 👏

Following the game, the girls got the chance to meet linda.djougang, who kindly signed shirts and spent time chatting with the squad.

A brilliant experience and a day the girls won’t forget anytime soon.

Well done to Stephen Smyth, Billy Corrigan, Tom Larke, Rian Handley and Mahon Ronan, who all played their part in Leinster A’s win over Ulster on Saturday 👏

The bi-annual Old Wesley Corporate Golf Event took place on Friday, 1st May, at the beautiful Powerscourt Golf Club. Despite some slick greens, the course was in magnificent condition, and the atmosphere remained vibrant throughout the day and evening.

Our sincere thanks go to our main sponsor, DNG, for their unwavering and continued support of this event. We also wish to thank the numerous companies and individuals who sponsored tee boxes, donated prizes, and participated so generously in the GOAL challenge and the evening auction. Events like these play a vital role in supporting the club and strengthening our community. We are truly grateful for your continued involvement.

Highlights of the Day

The Venue: A big thank you to Powerscourt Golf Club for their hospitality, providing a top-tier course, a fantastic post-golf dinner.

The Entertainment: After the final putts were sunk, guests were treated to a lively dinner followed by rugby insights and entertainment from Nigel Osborne and Kurt McQuilkin.

The Organisers: A huge debt of gratitude to Adrian Hawe, Nigel Dunne, and their dedicated team for ensuring the day ran smoothly from start to finish.

We hope all participants enjoyed the day both on and off the course. It was a fantastic way to celebrate our community before we head back to Division 1A!

The Old Wesley Annual Players Ball took place on Saturday and was a great night for the club with a fantastic turnout, with lots to celebrate!

Thank you to everyone who attended and to all those involved in organising the event. Nights like this are an important part of the club both on and off the pitch.
