A question to start your week off on a positive?
What ONE thing could I do this week to move the needle in the direction of where I want to be 3-6 months from now?
Why just one?
Well it's easy to complicate things or try to take on too much at once.
And if you're like most busy people, you don't need +5 other things on your to-do list.
Start small.
Start with the thing you know will have the 'biggest bang for your buck' and lead to a domino effect on other habits.

"How long do you think it will take you to get there yourself?"
I asked Jane on our zoom call.
"Probably never, because I've tried to do it myself and I just give up" she said.
She'd realised that without getting some help, her vision of losing a stone and dropping a dress size was unlikely to happen.
She'd tried the slimming worlds and restrictive diets but never sustained it.
Now she's trying a different approach.
Focusing on 3 core pillars of exercise, nutrition and mindset.
We'll build a plan for her that accommodates her lifestyle and she can adhere to, whilst overcoming her cycle of restrict then binge.
If you can relate to the above, reach out to me.
I'm taking ONE more client on for April who wants to finally get back to their best shape, without complicated exercise or nutrition plans.

Not another fitness guy telling me I can't indulge myself over Christmas.. π
No I'm not gunna be that guy!
And I fully expect to indulge a little myself π
Though my goal is to put on weight so it's a good excuse!
For most people though a good goal would be to maintain where they are at over Christmas, rather than put a bunch on and be starting January on the back foot.
I've put together 6 tips in an ebook to help you enjoy Christmas without having to get a new jean/dress size in the New Year.
To grab a copy just comment "Santa" below and I'll message you with link to download to your email.

Nice mindset hack from the book "The one thing" by Gary Keller.
It's easy to get overwhelmed and try to do multiple things at once when you want to achieve something.
Most of my clients and people in general do better minimising areas of focus and narrowing it down to things that have the biggest impact.
So you focus in on one process goal and you get a quick win that helps your confidence in yourself.

"I can't lose weight because I have a slow metabolism"
"I don't have the genetics to build muscle"
It's very easy to get sucked into the victim mindset.
And it feels better to tell ourselves that something outside of ourselves is the reason we can't achieve something.
But there's always of examples of people that have been in the same place as you, maybe even worse, who've still found a way to achieve their goals.
Mindset makes a big difference

Lose weight eating pizza ππ€
I used to not want my clients to see me eating anything 'bad'.
People would think my diet must be great.
And while I consume mostly good foods, I'm not averse to the odd pizza πor beer.
We're all human. Sure there's probably some coaches out there that eat chicken brocoli and prepare their food in tubberware for the week.
That's ok for some people for a time.
But for hypothetical Mary who's in her 40s, has a busy career and family life/kids it's not realistic.
That's why rigid meal plans don't work sustainably.
She enjoys the odd glass wine/pizza with her husband on a weekend.
Having something like Pizza doesn't have to detail your health/fitness goals.
It still comes down to overall calorie consumption.
An understanding of nutrition allows you to follow 80/20 rule.
So you don't have major guilt eating something you like.
And you don't βgo to the gym trying to burn off the 700 odd calories on the treadmill π₯΅
If the scales or your body isn't changing, then you know something needs to be adjusted.
It's easy to get emotional and say f*** it and go on a food binge, but taking a patient, measured approach to fat loss works best.
