⚽️ U13 Division 2 ⚽️
Baltinglass 2–3 St Fiaac’s AFC
A nice early start in Parkmore as our U13 Division 2 boys got their league campaign underway against St Fiaac’s AFC.
St Fiaac’s came out strongly and took an early lead inside the opening five minutes. Baltinglass responded well and kept their shape, with Jack Barrett and Patrick Doherty commanding the back line. Nicholas Gherca and Louie Booth also did an excellent job, clearing the danger whenever needed.
The Balto midfield worked extremely hard and held an excellent shape, while Fionn O’Toole never gave the St Fiaac’s centre-backs a moment’s rest up front, putting his body on the line for the team. Conor Dalton and Johnny Jones were excellent on the wings.
Baltinglass went into half-time 1–0 down, but the players continued to believe in each other and showed fantastic team spirit.
Rhys Barry-Doyle and Sean Doyle played brilliantly out from the back, with moves starting from Micheal Cullen in goal and working all the way through to the front line. Tyler Barry showed some excellent touches in midfield to get beyond the St Fiaac’s players.
St Fiaac’s started the second half strongly and found another goal to make it 2–0, but Balto refused to give up.
We won a free kick and delivered it dangerously into the box. After a deflection, the ball fell to Johnny Jones, who found the back of the net to make it 2–1. ⚽️
Brian Foster and David Omuwa came on and worked incredibly hard to keep the press going. Niamh Moore was superb after coming on, picking the right passes from left-back, while Fionn Germain produced a fantastic defensive display.
Balto kept pushing for the equaliser, and their hard work paid off when the ball was slipped through to Luciano Oliynan, who calmly finished into the bottom corner.
2–2 with 10 minutes to go! ⚽️🔥
Karam Malek came on and did well up front as Balto looked to complete the comeback. Unfortunately, St Fiaac’s responded and found the decisive goal to make it 3–2.
