🌊 A Typical Day on the Retreat 🌊

One of the things I enjoy most about these weekends is the slower pace of life 🌀

No rushing around, no strict schedules, just a few days to get outdoors, move your body, enjoy good food and spend time with great people👥

A typical day might include:

☕ Slow breakfast and plenty of coffee
🏄 Surfing in the Atlantic
🧖 Sauna and sea swims with Sona Sauna Belmullet

For the last few years I’ve made a point of stopping to watch the sunset on the Summer Solstice 🌅

No matter where I am or what’s going on, I try to take a little time to get outside and appreciate the longest day of the year. Thankfully, in recent years I’ve been able to enjoy Summer Solstice sunsets from some beautiful places close to home in Blacksod 🏡

It’s become a small tradition of mine and something I always look forward to. I usually sneak in a quick dip too and try to take in the day before it comes to an end 🌀

Living on the west coast, I’ve been lucky enough to witness some incredible sunsets over the years, and I’ve always felt there is something special about marking the Summer Solstice by the sea🌊

I also love the Gaeilge for solstice, “Grianstad” — meaning “sun stop”, the moment when the sun appears to pause before beginning its journey back south 🌏

This year I’m looking forward to sharing that experience with a small group of people as part of the Tonn Nua Summer Solstice Retreat 😇

We’ll finish the day with a communal dinner, a bonfire gathering and, weather permitting, a sunset over the Atlantic 🌊🔥🌞

Couldn’t be happier with how the first Surf and Yoga retreat went 😇

There were many highlights for me but the thing that stood out the most was the consistent craic 😅

The weekend flowed perfectly
Each day started with brilliant yoga from 🧘‍♀️
Followed by delicious breakfast 🥞

The waves were jazzy and the Shaka level was high 🤙

The Sauna was a dream 🧖‍♂️🧖‍♀️

It’s been a goal of mine for a few years to run retreats using my house as a base and to show people the beauty of Blacksod and Belmullet 🏖️

I’m looking at dates and hoping to run another retreat in the next few weeks 🤞

Great craic last weekend with Emily and the crew from .ie on Achill island 🤙

Was a brilliant few days with great people filled with waves, skating, an abundance of craic, music and yoga 🛹
