⚽ SFAI NATIONAL CUP – ROUND 2

Cahir Park U12s 4–1 Gorey Rangers

Cahir Park U12s welcomed Gorey Rangers to Cahir Park yesterday for the second round of the SFAI National Cup, producing an excellent performance to book their place in Round 3.

Cahir started brightly and took the lead after just three minutes when Jake Ryan found the net with a superb finish. Cahir continued to apply pressure and doubled their advantage on eight minutes, with Jake Ryan once again on target, calmly slotting home from 10 yards to grab his second of the game. Gorey Rangers pulled a goal back after 15 minutes when they were awarded a penalty, but Cahir continued to play some lovely football and restored their two-goal advantage in style. Cillian Frazer cleverly scored directly from a corner to make it 3–1, giving Cahir a deserved lead at the break.

The second half started much like the first, with Cahir on top. Both teams battled hard and produced some lively passages of play, but it was Cahir who struck again to put the game beyond reach. Joao Pedro got on the end of a lovely ball from Adam Noonan to make it 4–1 and round off an impressive team performance.

👏 Well done to all the lads on a fantastic result and a place in Round 3!

A big thank you to Gorey Rangers for a sporting game, and many thanks to the parents who kindly hosted the Gorey players and supporters with some lovely sandwiches and treats. Your hospitality was greatly appreciated.

🏆 Next up: Cahir Park U12s take on St. Leonard’s from Wexford in Round 3 on Saturday, 7th November.
